Programme overview:
Our 2027 London Summer Internship Programme runs for 10 weeks, starting on Monday 14 June 2027 and finishing on Friday 20 August 2027. This internship is designed to give you a unique introduction to the asset and wealth management industry and offers valuable insight into how your chosen department operates within Schroders.
Throughout the programme you will:
Take part in comprehensive introductory training to build your understanding of the business
Be assigned to a team where you will contribute to live projects and gain meaningful hands-on experience
Shadow experienced professionals and learn directly from leaders in the field
Have opportunities to network with colleagues and other interns, helping you build connections for your future career
This internship provides practical experience, skill development, and a strong foundation for those interested in pursuing a career in the asset and wealth management industry.
Who we’re looking for:
We are looking for proactive, driven and collaborative individuals with a genuine passion for investment management and product roles. You will demonstrate strong numerical and analytical ability, commercial awareness, and curiosity about the industry. You thrive in dynamic environments, are eager to learn, and adapt quickly to new challenges. You communicate clearly, work well both independently and in teams, and are committed to producing high-quality work while developing your skills further.
Required skills and capabilities:
Exceptional attention to detail: Diligent and methodical, with commitment to accuracy
Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to clearly articulate complex concepts to stakeholders at all levels
Self-starter who is proactive, driven, prepared, and genuinely eager to contribute to team and organisational goals
Ability to analyse complex data and information, identify errors, and draw meaningful insights using critical thinking
Experience preparing and presenting insights or recommendations (e.g. through societies, university projects, work experience, or case competitions)
Commercial awareness, with an interest in understanding business and products, current affairs, and the economic and regulatory landscape affecting asset management
A genuine passion for working with numbers and skilled at presenting data and creating reports in simple business terminology for diverse audiences
Able to work independently, manage time and tasks efficiently, and deliver high-quality outputs to deadlines
Flexible and adaptable, able to adjust to changing priorities or circumstances while maintaining quality

The team:
Product sits in Client Group. Product is uniquely positioned within the organisation to drive change. Sitting between Investment, Client Group, and Operations, Product is well placed to independently evaluate the market and identify key trends, while understanding the perspective different parts of the business in order to formulate the right strategy.
The Product function is made up of a range of teams whose overall responsibility is to own the entire product lifecycle from idea to execution to ongoing monitoring of the product range:
Product Strategy - This team leads product strategy and innovation to ensure alignment with client needs and the anticipated investment landscape. The team seeks to build a strong understanding of the market, better inform Schroders' sales activity, improve product positioning and suggest product development ideas.
Product Development - This team works across the entire product lifecycle, and is tasked with designing and developing new products (e.g. funds) or solutions for our clients. Our job is to outperform our competitors by creating products that are innovative and suit our clients’ needs. The team runs the value assessment processes and performance analysis processes for the fund Boards.
Knowledge, experience and qualifications we’re looking for:
When the internship commences, you will have completed your second year of studies and will be on track to graduate with a degree (or equivalent) in 2028
We welcome applications from all degree subjects, although a STEM focused degree discipline would be beneficial.
Please note that we do not accept applications from students in their final year who intend to undertake further study (e.g. a Master's degree) before entering employment.
A good working knowledge of document production software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
