The Corporate Functions Governance & Control (CFG&C) team within ESS drives risk governance and control management for several business units including ESS; Corporate Affairs & Communications; Colleague Experience Group; General Counsel’s Organization; Enterprise Strategy; and American Express National Bank Headquarters (Corporate Functions). CFG&C enables risk governance and control management through a structure that governs, identifies, assesses, manages and reports on enterprise, operational and compliance risks.
CFG&C is seeking an Analyst, Regulatory Governance to support the maintenance of the Laws, Rules and Regulations inventory applicable to the supported Corporate Functions. This role will help promote effective regulatory risk management by supporting governance activities, tracking key deliverables, and assisting with documentation and reporting across applicable markets.
- Support implementation of the new Reliance Model through coordination, documentation, and execution tracking.
- Assist with execution of the Reliance Model Questionnaire and monitor business-unit alignment with minimum standards.
- Track annual attestations related to program compliance and business-unit regulatory subject-matter expertise.
- Review, organize, and maintain documentation supporting business-unit governance processes.
- Prepare recurring reports, status updates, and supporting materials to enhance Corporate Function awareness of regulatory change management activities.
- 1–3 years of experience in compliance, legal, regulatory advisory, risk management, project coordination, or a related financial services role preferred.
- Foundational understanding of regulatory requirements, compliance risks, business processes, and control environments.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to support project execution, including status tracking, meeting coordination, documentation, and follow-up on action items.
- Familiarity with governance frameworks, operating models, policy requirements, or operational risk management concepts preferred.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and levels.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt in a dynamic environment with appropriate guidance.
- Bachelor’s degree required; relevant coursework or professional certification in compliance, risk management, business, or law is a plus.
