Overview of the Business:
US Consumer Services (USCS) is responsible for driving profitable growth of American Express US Consumer portfolio by acquiring outstanding new customers and deepening Card Member Engagement and Loyalty through developing differentiated products & partnerships and strengthening our membership services offerings across Travel, Dining, Lifestyle and Banking.

Our Strategy is focused on building a strong premium Card business differentiated by Membership, which is brought to life by connecting our Card Members to what they love.
The Apprentice Program offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in analytics, risk management, and business problem solving while working alongside experienced professionals. Apprentices will support ongoing projects, learn how data drives business decisions, and contribute to initiatives that enhance customer and business outcomes.
Specific job responsibilities span mainly across the following three broad teams within USCS in India:
Marketing Analytics, responsible to drive revenue growth and investment efficiency by acquiring new customers, onboarding, engaging, and retaining them through marketing programs and acquisition offers, while managing credit quality and minimizing gaming.
Product & Membership Analytics, responsible to drive profitable growth by developing and enhancing products and services to strengthen Membership and deepen loyalty and engagement and meet our customers’ evolving buying and payment needs.
Control Management, responsible to mitigate risk and strengthen control environment and thereby ensure we deliver on the customer promise for our products and services.
There is a single job family within each of these teams to solve the business problems mentioned above.
Generally, the role will entail the following responsibilities:
Develop an understanding of the American Express business, products, and customer journey.
Learn to analyze business and customer data to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
Support the team in monitoring risks, identifying opportunities for improvement, and solving business problems.
Assist in preparing reports, presentations, dashboards, and business recommendations.
Use AI-powered tools such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, and other Large Language Models (LLMs) to improve productivity, research, analysis, and content creation.
Collaborate with team members on analytics, process improvement, and business projects.
Present findings and recommendations in a clear and structured manner.
Graduate (any discipline) with strong academic performance.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Strong curiosity and willingness to learn.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Basic analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Familiarity with Generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, or similar LLM-based applications.
Knowledge of SQL and/or Python is preferred but not mandatory.
Prior academic projects, certifications, or coursework in analytics, AI, data science, or business analysis will be an added advantage.
