The Global Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities team (GFICC) at J.P. The Customized Bond Portfolios (CBP) group within GFICC manages approximately $200 billion in Separately Managed Account (SMA) assets across municipal bonds, government securities, corporate credit, high yield, preferreds, international fixed income, and multi-sector strategies.

Job Summary

As a Municipals Investment Specialist within the CBP team, you will serve as the senior client facing representative for J.P. Morgan Asset Management's Municipal Bond SMA platform, representing approximately $100 billion in municipal SMA assets. You will represent the investment team on business-related matters, including client servicing, business development, investment communications, distribution strategy, thought leadership, content creation, product development, and asset growth initiatives. A key priority for this role will be supporting the continued growth of the Municipal business across third-party channels, including wealth management platforms, registered investment advisors (RIAs), intermediaries, and institutional investors.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead Investment Specialist and primary representative for the Municipal Bond 
    platform within Customized Bond Portfolios. 
  • Collaborate closely with portfolio managers on broad platform, prospects, existing 
    accounts, and strategic growth initiatives. 
  • Engage with sales teams across distribution channels to jointly develop distribution 
    strategy and execute business development plans. 
  • Drive initiatives designed to increase assets under management and strengthen the 
    franchise's presence across wealth management platforms, RIAs, broker-dealers, and 
    intermediary channels. 
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key decision-makers across financial advisor 
    networks, consultant communities, and third-party distribution partners. 
  • Analyze portfolios, including positioning, sector allocations, performance results, risk 
    analytics, and market opportunities. 
  • Develop engaging, compelling, and dynamic marketing content, investment commentary, 
    and thought leadership to position strategies in an evolving market environment. 
  • Partner with client advisors, consultants, and distribution on new business opportunities, 
    platform placements, RFPs, due diligence questionnaires, and presentations. 
  • Operate as a business owner for the Municipal platform, identifying opportunities to 
    improve client experience, streamline business processes, and elevate the franchise. 

 

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • 15+ years of experience in municipal fixed income. 
  • Bachelor's Degree. 
  • Series 7 and Series 63 licenses. 
  • Extensive knowledge and experience across municipal fixed income markets, tax-aware 
    investing, and separately managed account solutions. 
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with financial advisors, consultants, 
    wealth management platforms, and key distribution partners. 
  • Strong understanding of portfolio construction, credit analysis, interest rate strategy, 
    duration management, municipal market dynamics, and performance attribution. 
  • Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills with the ability to 
    engage clients and colleagues at all levels. 
  • Dynamic and credible professional with excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Strong knowledge of Bloomberg, PowerPoint, and advanced Excel. 


Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills 

  • Advanced degree or certification, such as MBA or CFA. 
  • Investortools Perform experience. 
  • Python or related analytical programming experience is a plus.
