Checkout.com is actively looking for a part or newly qualified enthusiastic and talented Associate to join our Financial Control team in Singapore. This hands-on role reporting to the Director of Financial Control (APAC) is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly expanding global company. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated with excellent communication skills and can work to strict deadlines. You will take the lead in financial analysis preparation, resolving accounting issues, participating in ad hoc projects, plus supporting the annual external audits for the assigned legal entities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ownership of Legal entities financial reporting to ensure ledgers are complete and accurate and that reporting deadlines are adhered to.

  • Assistance in the preparation and review of VAT returns

  • Assisting in the global and local statutory audit process

  • Support finance transformation initiatives across APAC, working closely with the Group Finance team.

  • Identify and implement continuous improvements to processes, controls, and efficiencies.

  • Support a range of tax-related matters, including corporate tax, consumption tax, depreciable assets tax, and withholding tax.

  • Contribute to ad-hoc financial projects and analysis as needed.

About you:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, or a related field, with a strong academic record.

  • Newly Qualified (CA/CPA/ACCA)

  • 5-7 years of relevant experience- Big 4 + Financial Services (preferred), at least a tech company otherwise (Big 4 supporting tech companies ok as well)

  • Strong background in Financial Control is essential.

  • Sound technical accounting knowledge, with confidence in preparing financial statements under Japanese GAAP.

  • Bilingual proficiency in Japanese and English (spoken and written).
