Overview
The Associate Technical Lead is responsible for leading the technical delivery of projects while remaining hands-on with development activities. This role combines project delivery ownership, active contribution to development tasks, code reviews, mentoring, and technical guidance to ensure high-quality outcomes. The role acts as a key point of contact for delivery execution, supports team members in resolving technical challenges and blockers, and helps drive engineering best practices across the project team.

Key Accountabilities and main responsibilities
Strategic Focus 
  • Drive the technical delivery of projects by combining strong engineering judgment, hands-on development contribution, and delivery discipline.
  • Act as a key delivery point of contact for the project, supporting effective resource utilisation, removing blockers, and helping the team maintain momentum against project goals.
  • Promote engineering best practices through code reviews, technical guidance, and continuous improvement in design, quality, and delivery standards.
Operational Management 
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to understand development objectives, priorities, timelines, and delivery expectations.
  • Take ownership of assigned project deliverables while actively contributing to development tasks across the application stack.
  • Provide technical guidance and practical solutions to resolve development challenges, implementation issues, and design-related concerns.
  • Conduct code reviews to maintain code quality, consistency, maintainability, and adherence to engineering standards.
  • Coordinate with business analysts, delivery managers, technical leads, and testing teams to resolve cross-functional blockers and support timely delivery.
  • Support the team in delivering stable, scalable, and high-quality solutions by following sound engineering and release practices.
  • Encourage continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and adoption of relevant technologies, tools, and practices within the team.
People Leadership 
  • Support day-to-day coordination of the project team to help ensure successful delivery against agreed milestones.
  • Mentor team members through technical guidance, code reviews, and constructive feedback to improve delivery quality and individual capability.
  • Foster accountability, collaboration, and a high-performing team environment while helping team members overcome technical and delivery challenges
Governance & Risk 
  • Ensure development practices align with coding standards, secure development principles, source control discipline, and applicable information security requirements.
Experience & Personal Attributes
Minimum Qualification: Bachelor of Engineering / MSC / BSc – IT / Any Graduate with Relevant experience
Must-have 
  • 8+ years of software development experience with strong hands-on expertise in Microsoft .NET technologies. 
  • Good understanding and strong working knowledge of C#, .NET Framework, MVC, .NET Core, and modern .NET development using .NET 8 or later. 
  • Strong experience in designing and developing web applications, REST APIs, and backend services using .NET-based technologies. 
  • Good understanding of application design principles and object-oriented programming. 
  • Experience with automated unit testing and mocking frameworks. 
  • Strong understanding of Git-based source control practices, including branching strategies, pull requests, and code merge discipline. 
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD practices, release pipelines, build automation, and deployment processes. 
  • Good understanding of Agile/Scrum delivery environments and working in cross-functional teams. 
  • Understanding of front-end development concepts and experience working with a modern UI framework such as React, Angular, or Vue.js. 
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for application development and effective collaboration with front-end developers. 
  • Understanding of caching concepts and performance optimisation techniques. 
  • Good problem-solving skills with the ability to develop practical, timely, and scalable solutions. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Self-motivated, delivery-focused, and capable of mentoring team members while contributing as an individual developer. 
Good-to-have 
  • Experience with React. 
  • Exposure to Azure Functions. 
  • Exposure to Oracle. 
  • Exposure to Redis. 
  • Good understanding of design patterns and architecture patterns. 
  • Architectural understanding of microservices-based systems.
