Mō te tūranga - About the role

Step into a pivotal role as Senior Audit Manager in ANZ’s Internal Audit team, supporting the integrity of New Zealand’s financial system at the country’s largest bank and private fund manager.

You’ll deliver strategic, risk-focused assurance directly to the Board Audit Committee, using advanced digital tools and data analytics to raise the bar for audit excellence. Leading high-performing teams, you’ll oversee audits across technology domains like cyber security and cloud infrastructure, as well as major transformation initiatives.

This role offers outstanding commercial exposure and professional growth. You’ll deepen your expertise in assurance and risk, work alongside talented colleagues, and connect with ANZ’s global network. You’ll have the chance to contribute to significant transformation programmes, engage with senior leaders across New Zealand and the Pacific, and collaborate on internal audit projects across Australia, India, Europe, and beyond.

Ka aha tō rā e kite ai? - What will your day look like

In a typical day or week, your work may involve the following:

• Leading and delivering technology audits across critical platforms, infrastructure, cyber security, applications, and major transformation programmes.
• Assessing the design and effectiveness of technology controls to identify risks, strengthen governance, and improve business outcomes.
• Partnering with senior Technology, Risk, and Business stakeholders to provide independent, risk-focused assurance and trusted advice.
• Using data analytics and digital audit tools to enhance audit quality, identify trends, and uncover meaningful insights.
• Preparing clear, concise audit findings and reports that articulate key risks, root causes, and practical recommendations.
• Coaching and supporting audit team members while contributing to the ongoing evolution of ANZ's Internal Audit practices and methodologies.

Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

• Deep experience in a technology assurance focussed role, gained in a professional services firm or comparable industry. 
• Demonstrated experience leading or delivering complex technology audits across large platforms, applications, infrastructure environments, or transformation programmes.
• Strong knowledge of technology controls and key technologies, with exposure to environments such as Windows, Active Directory, Unix, cloud platforms, and ideally mainframe systems.
• Experience assessing application controls and technology risks within large and complex organisations.
• Excellent critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to challenge constructively and influence outcomes.
• A relevant tertiary qualification and professional certification such as CISA (preferred), CIA, CA, or an equivalent qualification, complemented by outstanding stakeholder management, verbal, and written communication skills.
