We are seeking a highly analytical and execution-driven AVP/VP, Fund Structurer to join our front-office fund management desk. This unique hybrid role sits at the intersection of investment product manufacturing, multi-asset trade execution, and legal/regulatory engineering.
Operating as a licensed representative of our fund manager, you will be responsible for translating the complex governance and aspirations of clients into robust, high-performing investment vehicles. You will lead the legal and regulatory setup of our innovative Variable Capital Company (VCC) sub-funds, drive best-execution trading across global markets, and manage the end-to-end lifecycle of the portfolios.
Key Responsibilities
1. Fund Structuring & Legal/Regulatory Engineering
• Architect Bespoke VCC Structures: Partner with wealth, corporate and financial institutional teams to design and implement innovative investment structures leveraging the Variable Capital Company (VCC) platform.
• End-to-End Fund Lifecycle Management: Support the full operational and legal lifecycle of the VCC, including the launch and legal setup of new sub-funds, NAV validation oversight, corporate action elections, dividend distribution processing, and winding-up procedures.
• Legal and Regulatory Compliance: Liaise closely with internal legal, risk, and compliance teams, as well as external legal counsel, to draft fund documentation (such as offering memorandums and investment management agreements) and ensure strict compliance with MAS VCC guidelines (e.g., AML/CFT under VCC-N01).
- To recommend, supervise and manage external lawyers to ensure that high quality and focused advice is received at reasonable cost and in a timely manner to appropriately protect bank’s and fund shareholder’s interests.
- To prepare and update standard form documentation and fund documentation (including the private product memorandum, termsheet, subscription agreement and other ancillary agreements etc.) for use by the business together with related guidance notes and other advisory materials for new and existing funds.
- To ensure the relevant legal and regulatory requirements are well understood by the business and are reflected in the relevant documentation and internal procedures.
2. Portfolio Construction & Multi-Asset Trade Execution
• Front-Office Best Execution: Operate as a licensed representative to execute trades across global markets (including Fixed Income, Equities, and Derivatives) with high accuracy and efficiency, ensuring minimal slippage and optimal fund performance.
• Portfolio Rebalancing & Monitoring: Assist in portfolio construction, investment strategy positioning, and systematic rebalancing in line with the fund’s defined mandate and risk appetite.
• Risk & Control Oversight: Monitor portfolio risk limits, manage market exposure, and ensure that all trading activities align with global risk management, internal compliance policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) .
• Operational Excellence & Automation: Work with fund administrators and custodians to ensure the accuracy of Net Asset Value (NAV) reporting and build automation/digital workflows to scale fund operations.
Key Requirements
• Experience: Relevant legal experience in the banking, asset management, or financial services industry, with direct exposure to wealth management, private banking, or capital markets execution desks .
• Education & Professional Licensing: Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline. Must be eligible to be registered as a licensed representative under the MAS capital markets services regime.
• Technical Structuring & Legal Knowledge: Strong understanding of fund structures (both restricted and retail funds), with specific, hands-on experience or deep exposure to Singapore Variable Capital Company (VCC) frameworks and legal documentation.
• Product & Execution Mastery: Practical product knowledge across Fixed Income, Equities, and Derivatives, with prior experience executing trades and navigating portfolio management systems.
• Analytical & Programming Skills: High proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Strong aptitude for quantitative analysis, spreadsheet modeling, and problem-solving; experience with programming/automation tools (e.g., Python, VBA, or SQL) is highly advantageous.
• Soft Skills & Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication, coordination, and presentation skills. Must have the ability to influence senior internal stakeholders (Risk, Legal, Finance) and articulate technical structuring and market details clearly to family office clients and business partners .
• Mindset: Self-motivated starter who is comfortable navigating ambiguity, leading operational change, and managing tight deadlines in a fast-paced front-office environment.
