Key Responsibilities

Your leadership will involve setting clear, measurable objectives in partnership with risk and control specialists to drive continuous improvement.

Your role will include the proactive identification and comprehensive assessment of data governance risks, applying effective controls to mitigate potential issues while ensuring unwavering compliance with evolving regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Taking charge of governance oversight, you will review and refine the Group’s data governance frameworks, ensuring that they deliver robust control mechanisms aligned with industry best practices and regulatory standards.

A key aspect of your contribution involves upholding the highest ethical standards, leading initiatives that reinforce compliance with BCBS 239 and related regulatory regimes, and fostering a culture where compliance and ethical conduct are central to operations.

You will collaborate closely with a broad range of stakeholders, including Global Business Operations, Global Process Owners, Corporate & Institutional Banking, and various Data teams, to harmonise governance strategies and swiftly resolve data-related issues.

Role Responsibilities

•    Scoping of data quality issues identified through various channels including automated periodic profiling reports, self-identified issues and thematic issues highlighted by stakeholders 
•    Maintain Investigation backlog, plan and prioritise for action based on established prioritisation framework
•    Undertake investigation for prioritised issues allocated to team
•    Conduct root cause analysis of exceptions based on understanding of Group policy requirements, process and procedures and current system functionality
•    Identify high-level corrective options across processes and systems that will resolve/ prevent occurrence of the data quality issues
•    Identify cases requiring data remediation/ data enhancement and handover to remediation team for further action 
•    Track issues for progress and ensure that stakeholders are made aware of current data quality exceptions and their impact
•    Provide periodic updates on investigation backlog and generate data quality metrics
•    Proactive identification of data quality issues arising across client data domains, and risks emanating from them
•    Ensure alignment of assigned work items and activities to the strategic and tactical direction of the Data team
•    Identify opportunities for streamlining investigation activities as well as other components of the exception management process with the objective to improve coverage, efficiency and accuracy
•    Identify external investigation blockers and propose effective solutions 
•    Proactive identification of risks and concerns, including escalation to all relevant stakeholders 
•    Adherence to laws and regulations, internal risk and compliance policies and the Group Code of Conduct
•    Completion of all mandatory risk and compliance training including e-learning within stated timeframes
•    Safeguard all data by ensuring strict adherence to information communication guidelines polices as well as data storage/archival procedures

Desirable / Advantage
•    Strong experience working with data and/or data remediation and reconciliation at multiple level
•    Experience in multiple phases of the project lifecycle, preferably with exposure to business project delivery roles
•    Exposure to a structured development lifecycle and related deliverable and work processes
•    Consultancy background an advantage
•    Knowledge of SCB standard processes, project management, implementation and post implementation processes
•    Past experience in banking / financial institution

•    Data extract management, with emphasis on compliance, data sharing and entitlements model application
•    Reference Data management
•    Metadata Management

•    Experience working in a data management function, with a strong understanding of the risks related to poor data
•    Able to take ownership of issues/tasks and apply data management best practices
•    High level of attention to detail with the ability to identify variances and errors

Skills and Experience

•    MS Excel,MS Access
•    Alteryx, Tableau or any data anlalytical / visualisation tool
•    Data analysis skillset / certifications
