ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Billing Specialist to join our growing FinOps team, based in Lisbon. This role will be responsible for owning billing operations for our US and Brazil markets, working closely with our Product and Account Management teams to ensure new customers are set up accurately and billing runs smoothly. You'll be joining a global billing team spread across Portugal, Stockholm, and the US.
Key Responsibilities:
Billing Operations:
Own end to end billing for the US and Brazil markets
Set up new customers in our billing systems, ensuring accuracy from day one
Collect and manage W9/W8 tax documentation as part of the customer onboarding process
Partner closely with Product and Account Management teams to ensure the right information flows through to support accurate, timely billing
Support global implementation activity for new customers, working with our VP of Global Implementation
Cross Functional Collaboration:
Act as a key point of contact for billing related questions from Product and Account Management
Work with the wider FinOps team (10-12 people) and the billing sub team (3-4 people across Portugal, Stockholm, and the US) to maintain consistent processes
Support the transition of processes as parts of the function evolve
Track and Optimise Performance:
Utilize system data and reporting to track key billing operational metrics
Drive continuous improvement in accuracy, timeliness, and operational efficiency
Qualifications:
Experience: 2 to 3 years of billing experience, ideally within the Americas
Tax Exposure: Some experience with tax documentation collection (W9/W8) is a plus
System Proficiency: Comfortable working with bespoke or evolving billing systems, no specific platform experience required
Skills: Strong analytical and Excel skills, high attention to detail, and a collaborative working style
Mindset: A startup mentality, comfortable in a fast paced, evolving environment, and confident working independently as an individual contributor
Languages: Fluent in English and Portuguese
