Make your mark in Communications

Our customers and the business world need to know they can trust us. Corporate Communications focuses on protecting and enhancing AIG’s reputation and valuation. How you will create an impact

The Change Communications & Engagement Lead, CORE+ will play a critical role in supporting AIG’s CORE+ Program – a significant organisational change and risk transformation program focused on strengthening non-financial risk management, governance, accountability, controls and risk culture across Australia and New Zealand.

This role is ideal for a communications professional with deep experience in organisational change, business transformation and employee engagement, ideally gained in a risk remediation, regulatory transformation or complex financial services environment. You will help translate a serious and sensitive regulatory context into clear, practical and confidence-building communications that support leaders, managers and employees through change.

Working closely with Marketing & Communications, Enterprise Risk Management, Legal, HR, the CORE+ Program Management Office and senior leaders, you will develop and deliver communication strategies, leader materials, engagement plans, messaging, FAQs and change narratives that help employees understand what is changing, why it matters, what behaviours are expected and how progress will be evidenced.

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract with the potential for extension, subject to business requirements.

Key accountabilities will include but not limited to:

  • Lead the development and delivery of internal communications and engagement activity for the CORE+ Program, ensuring messaging is clear, consistent, practical and aligned with AIG’s broader communications standards.
  • Translate complex risk, governance, regulatory and transformation content into accessible employee communications, leader talking points, FAQs, manager toolkits and practical guidance.
  • Support the development of the CORE+ narrative, tone and messaging guardrails, helping leaders communicate the program in a way that acknowledges the seriousness of the regulatory context while reinforcing confidence, accountability and progress.
  • Partner with the CORE+ Program team, Enterprise Risk Management, Legal, HR, Marketing & Communications and business leaders to coordinate timely, accurate and approved communications across key milestones.
  • Develop leader and manager enablement materials that help people leaders explain organisational change, expected risk behaviours, escalation pathways and practical implications for teams.
  • Support change adoption by designing communications that connect CORE+ activity to day-to-day work, decision-making, risk ownership, controls discipline and sustainable business performance.
  • Monitor employee sentiment, questions, feedback themes and communication risks, feeding relevant insights into CORE+ governance and helping refine messaging where needed.
  • Maintain strong controls over sensitive or regulatory-related messaging, ensuring communication remains factual, appropriately positioned and aligned with approved Legal, Risk and regulatory affairs guidance.
  • Coordinate communication materials across channels including email, Teams, SharePoint, leadership updates, manager cascades, employee FAQs and supporting presentation materials.
  • Help manage communication risks including employee concern or speculation, inconsistent leader messaging, communication fatigue, perception of blame and potential external stakeholder questions.
  • Support evidence and reporting of communication activity, including reach, engagement themes, adoption indicators, materials delivered and issues requiring escalation.
  • Bring external change communication and transformation experience to help create a structured, engaging and sustainable communications approach that supports long-term risk culture uplift.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Extensive experience in internal communications, change communications, organisational change or transformation communications within a complex corporate environment.
  • Proven experience supporting major transformation, remediation, regulatory change, risk uplift or culture change programs; experience in financial services or another regulated industry is highly desirable.
  • Strong ability to translate complex, sensitive or technical subject matter into clear, concise and practical messaging for employees, managers and senior leaders.
  • Demonstrated experience developing communication strategies, change narratives, leader talking points, FAQs, manager toolkits, engagement plans and multi-channel communication materials.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work confidently with senior leaders, Legal, Risk, HR, program teams and communications colleagues.
