As a Client Onboarding Advisor in BMO’s rapidly growing North American Treasury & Payment Solutions business, you will manage end-to-end onboarding of clients for our award-winning cash management and payment solutions. In this individual contributor role, you serve as a trusted guide for new and existing commercial and capital markets clients, ensuring they experience a smooth, positive transition onto BMO’s platforms. You will work within a collaborative environment that values innovation, customer focus, and a commitment to BMO’s high standards of quality, compliance, and exceptional customer experience. This role offers a path for growth and development within BMO’s dynamic Commercial Banking team, where new ideas and continuous improvement are widely celebrated and rewarded 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Manage Client facing Implementations: Coordinate and execute the full client onboarding lifecycle of enabling cash management products, such as Digital portal, domestic and international payments, ISO, Complex integrations with client treasury workstation – from initial kickoff through configuration, testing, and launch. Ensure each client’s solution is set up correctly, on schedule, within scope, and meets all quality and compliance requirements.  

  • Client-Facing Support and Guidance: Act as the primary point of contact for clients during onboarding. Communicate regularly to provide updates, answer questions, and offer guidance. Translate technical information into clear, user-friendly terms, so clients feel confident and supported in adopting BMO’s solutions.  

  • Solution Configuration & Testing: Configure banking and cash management products to align with each client’s needs and BMO’s standards. Conduct thorough testing  to validate that solutions work as intended, ensuring a seamless go-live and ensure top notch customer satisfaction scores  

  • Process Improvement & Innovation: Bring a continuous improvement mindset to the team. Use innovative tools in your daily tasks, such as AI agents. Identify gaps or inefficiencies in current onboarding processes and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency and client satisfaction – be part of the innovative team!  Stay alert to new technologies and feedback from clients to help our team refine practices and remain future-ready in the evolving marketplace.  

  • Client Training and Post-Go-Live Support: Ensure clients are well-prepared for success. Provide or coordinate training for end-users (e.g. client teams) to facilitate smooth adoption of BMO’s solutions. After go-live, remain available to promptly address any technical inquiries and support clients in leveraging the product to its full potential, reinforcing BMO’s commitment to excellent service.  

  • Collaborate with client facing dedicated service advisors to ensure full service continuity for clients  

Qualifications & Ideal Candidate Profile: 

  • Experience: 3–5 years of experience in banking, fintech, or client implementation roles, preferably with exposure to cash management or financial product onboarding. A track record of coordinating projects or customer onboarding processes is highly desirable.  

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field is preferred (equivalent work experience will be considered). Relevant certifications (e.g., Project Management, process improvement methodologies) are a plus.  

  • Client-Centric Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in simple terms and provide top-notch customer service. Demonstrated skill in building positive relationships with clients and understanding their needs. Customer-focused mindset is essential. 

  • Problem Solving & Detail Orientation: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Attention to detail in managing data and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance. Comfort in performing testing and using data analysis tools to troubleshoot issues and verify solutions.  

  • Collaboration: A team player who works well with diverse stakeholders. Proven ability to coordinate across departments and functions to drive projects forward. Adaptability and creativity in working with others to find solutions (able to “think creatively and propose new solutions” to challenges).  

  • Professionalism & Growth Mindset: Self-motivated and able to work independently on complex, non-routine tasks. Eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced, evolving business environment, keeping up with industry changes and contributing to the team’s continuous improvement efforts. Salary:

$45,500.00 - $84,500.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
