Commercial Credit Construction Summer Intern

As a Commercial Credit Construction Summer Intern, you'll gain valuable exposure to the world of commercial construction lending and portfolio management. At Rockland Trust, our Commercial Credit team plays a critical role in supporting businesses, developers, and communities through construction financing. As part of the Construction Department, you'll contribute to meaningful work while developing analytical, organizational, and operational skills that are highly transferable across banking, finance, and commercial real estate careers.

In addition to your individual responsibilities, you'll collaborate with fellow interns from on signature summer projects, providing an opportunity to tackle real business opportunities, gain exposure to different areas of the Bank, strengthen teamwork and leadership skills.

What You'll Do

Gain Exposure to Construction Lending & Portfolio Management

As a Commercial Credit Construction Summer Intern, you'll support the day-to-day operations of the Construction Lending team while learning how construction projects are monitored, funded, and administered throughout their lifecycle.

You'll work closely with Construction Portfolio Managers, Internal Inspectors, and department leadership while helping maintain accurate project information and supporting critical lending activities.

Key Responsibilities

You will:

• Assist with maintaining construction loans within Construct, the Bank's cloud-based construction loan management platform.
• Review loan and construction documentation to support the onboarding and management of construction projects.
• Update and maintain construction project budgets and related project information.
• Participate in the construction requisition and inspection process.
• Support the management and distribution of department communications and inbox requests.
• Assist with retrieving documentation needed for audits, reviews, and ongoing compliance activities.
• Create reports and summaries to support the Construction Team Manager and department initiatives.
• Help ensure construction loan information remains accurate, organized, and up to date.
• Gain exposure to how commercial construction projects are managed from both a lending and operational perspective.
• Participate in collaborative summer projects with fellow interns.

What We're Looking For

Education

• Rising Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor's degree in:
