We currently have an exciting opportunity for a maternity cover Compliance Officer (12-month fixed term) to join our Life & Health Subsidiary in Sydney.
You can look forward to
Reporting directly to the Chief Risk and Compliance Officer, this fixed term maternity cover role will be responsible for the management of the Company’s Compliance Program including improvement, monitoring and reporting.
- Maintaining and regularly reviewing the compliance obligation register
- Maintaining documentation, monitoring and reporting of appropriate compliance measures
- Undertaking a regular review of the Compliance Framework as part of the annual compliance reporting process with improvements implemented as deemed necessary
- Maintaining oversight of incidents, issues and breaches in the Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) system and assessing and reporting compliance breaches in accordance with applicable breach reporting obligations and regulatory requirements
- Providing advice to the business, Board Risk Committee, Executive and Senior Management on compliance related issues and matters
- Assisting with the development of training in relation to compliance issues
You come equipped with
- Intermediate to advanced level excel skills
- Undergraduate degree in arts, science or law is preferred (does not require nor need a practicing certificate as this role is not a lawyer or legal representative position)
- Experience in legal and compliance roles in financial services
- Technical and statutory knowledge as pertains to the requirements of this role
- People and relationship management skills with the ability to communicate and liaise at all levels within the business
- Strategic thinking capabilities
- Excellent organisation, attention to detail and ability to prioritise effectively
- Clear and effective communication both written and verbal with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team
