Role Description

Deutsche India Pvt Ltd is Deutsche Bank’s global platform for front-office and aligned functions, combining exceptional talent with a collaborative culture. As an Associate in Corporate Banking Capital Strats, you will work closely with Strats, business, Risk, Finance, and Technology teams in Mumbai and global locations to develop quantitative analytics, forecasting tools, and scalable solutions for capital, expected credit loss, financial resource management, and performance decision-making. You will translate business and regulatory requirements into robust implementations, primarily using Python and C++, while maintaining strong standards for control, data quality, and documentation.

Your key responsibilities

  • Develop analytics and forecasting tools for capital, expected credit loss, risk-weighted assets, and financial resource management

  • Understand business and regulatory requirements, decompose complex problems, and design practical end-to-end solutions

  • Build, enhance, test, and maintain scalable applications and analytical libraries using Python and C++

  • Source, analyze, and validate financial, risk, default, and recovery data; design tables and relational data structures where required

  • Support model development, calibration, scenario analysis, and production implementation with appropriate documentation and controls

  • Collaborate with global Front Office, Credit Risk Management, Finance, and Technology stakeholders to gather requirements, resolve issues, and deliver agreed outcomes

  • Contribute to automation, platform modernization, data-quality improvements, testing, release activities, and ongoing production support

Your skills and experience

  • Strong academic background in engineering, computer science, mathematics, statistics, physics, finance, economics, or another quantitative discipline

  • At least two years of hands-on Python development experience, including data analysis and production-quality coding

  • Working knowledge of C++ concepts, including object-oriented programming, pointers, and common data structures

  • Experience with relational databases and SQL; knowledge of database design using platforms such as Oracle or MySQL is preferred

  • Sound quantitative foundations in probability, linear algebra, statistics, and optimization; exposure to econometrics or data science is advantageous

  • Understanding of banking products, credit risk, regulatory capital, expected credit loss, or financial resource management is desirable
