Your Role
We are currently seeking a Tax Accountant, Senior. This position will report to the Tax Director and will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of financial statement quarterly tax provision, tax projections, and tax compliance workbooks for various legal entities within the Consolidated Group.
The ideal candidate must have a tax technical background, be comfortable and confident navigating through innovative and complex matters to support current tax positions, technical skills to operate the tax reporting and calculation tools, have outstanding communication and writing skills, be attentive to details, and be able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while working with multiple cross functional teams. The candidate will need to demonstrate the ability to develop strong working relationships with cross-functional partners and various levels of leadership.
Your Work
In this role, you will:
- Calculate estimated tax payments (OneSource Provision)
- Assist with the preparation of stand-alone, group or consolidated tax returns and related reports to ensure compliance with federal and state tax regulations
- Assist in the preparation of US GAAP income tax provisions (OneSource) and financial statement footnote disclosures
- Maintain tax basis fixed asset module in Oracle for tax depreciation reporting
- Help design and/or improve internal controls and develop appropriate compliance policies and procedures
- Assist with research, and analysis of various state and local tax issues (CheckPoint)
- Support responses to inquiries from tax authorities
- Receive assignments in the form of objectives and establish goals to meet objectives
- Ensure workflow procedures and guidelines are clearly documented and communicated
- May lead special projects
- Frequently interact with colleagues, supervisors, managers, outside customers, and functional peer groups
- Participate in developmental and training opportunities for tax team members
Your Knowledge and Experience
- Requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in Corporate Accounting/Tax Accounting
- Familiarity with Statutory accounting and insurance tax
- CPA certification preferred
