Job Description
The Data Analyst will play a key role in improving how data is managed and used across the organization. This includes driving the adoption of centralized Enterprise Data Masters—core platforms that serve as the single, trusted source for critical business data such as investment products, accounts, benchmarks, and securities. This individual will operate at the intersection of investments, data, and technology, partnering with stakeholders across Investment Operations, Front Office, Onboarding, and Compliance to translate business needs into scalable data solutions. The role requires a proactive, delivery-focused analyst who can lead strategic adoption initiatives (including eliminating reliance on legacy tools and improving data quality) while providing hands-on business support.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive adoption of Enterprise Data Masters by identifying gaps in usage, integration, and business requirements
- Map current processes, upstream data sources, and downstream consumers to define transition pathways to target-state architecture
- Lead initiatives to reduce reliance on fragmented and manual processes
- Define and document target-state processes leveraging centralized data platforms to improve scalability and control
- Support UAT, validation, and integration of new capabilities into BAU operations
- Act as the key interface between Data, Technology, and business teams to ensure solutions meet operational needs
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement through workshops, feedback sessions, and adoption tracking
- Provide hands-on BAU Data Operations support, including issue triage, stakeholder queries, benchmark onboarding (via JIRA) and vendor coordination
- Participate in incident reviews, root cause analysis, and implementation of preventative controls
- Maintain adoption tracking artifacts (e.g., heatmaps, KPIs) and provide regular leadership updates on progress, risks, and dependencies
- Collaborate with internal and external support teams to ensure timely resolution of user issues
- Support development of dashboards and reporting to track data quality, operational performance, and adoption progress
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in a business analyst, data analyst, or data operations role within financial services or asset management
- Strong understanding of financial data concepts, including securities, portfolios/accounts, benchmarks, and market data
- Familiarity with CR IMS a plus
- Experience with SQL and cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake) to query and analyze enterprise data
- Proven experience gathering and documenting business requirements and translating them into functional solutions using tools such as ARIS, with a focus on scalability and efficiency
- Hands-on experience with JIRA (or similar) for requirements tracking and project delivery
- Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholders and drive outcomes across multiple teams in complex environments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate data issues and identify root causes
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and present to senior management
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, balancing strategic initiatives with day-to-day operational support
- Proactive self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Familiarity with Bloomberg data and tools (e.g., pricing, reference data, analytics, PORT)
- Exposure to AI-enabled tooling, including Copilot, AI agent development, or similar
