Job Description
What is the opportunity?
You will join our Wealth Management Europe Data Management Office on an exciting 24-month rotation programme, gaining exposure to the full spectrum of data management disciplines. This is your launchpad into a career with RBC, rotating through Data Governance & Quality, Data Culture & AI Enablement, Data Analytics, and Data Advisory & Optimisation before moving into a permanent placement.
This is a permanent, full-time role with minimum 4 days working from our Jersey office.
What will you do?
- Attend stakeholder meetings across Wealth Management Europe and Wealth Management to understand business data needs and strategic priorities
- Assist with mapping the business data glossary for critical business processes and review existing data quality dashboards in Tableau to suggest improvements
- Build foundational knowledge of Collibra and data governance platforms, exploring training materials to develop SQL skills
- Research emerging data and AI trends, supporting data culture and AI enablement initiatives across the business
- Participate in Data Culture Working Group and Champions meetings, communicating progress through Connect and other channels
- Gain exposure to different data analytics approaches, experiencing the end-to-end data lifecycle from request through to interactive dashboard delivery
- Participate in strategic project working groups, assisting with requirement capture, action tracking and agile reporting tools such as JIRA
- Support data optimisation activities and discover how data engineering and database ingestion underpin data-driven decision-making
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Ability to use own initiative and meet deadlines consistently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills at all levels
- Good understanding of RBC, its operations and products
- Flexible approach with proven ability to work collaboratively as a team player
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook
Nice-to-have
- Experience or strong familiarity with software packages including Connect, Lucid/Mural and Webex
- Interest in data management, governance or analytics
- Willingness to develop technical skills such as SQL
