As the Director of Payment Operations, you will own the operating model, processes and controls required to deliver reliable, compliant and scalable payment capabilities across Array’s products. You will build and lead the function responsible for client payment onboarding and lifecycle management, transaction monitoring, settlement and reconciliation, disputes, payment incidents, and client and partner escalations as Array expands from gateway functionality into payment facilitation.
You will:
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Finance, Legal, Compliance and Risk to define the operational requirements, controls and readiness plans needed to launch and scale Array’s payment capabilities
- Partner with our existing Money Operations team responsible for our D2C offerings. You ensure our B2B and D2C operating models, capabilities and roadmaps are aligned
- Build, operate and continuously improve the transaction monitoring, settlement, reconciliation, exception-management and reporting processes supporting Array+ and Private Label solutions
- Define and manage the end-to-end payment account lifecycle for B2B clients, including onboarding, activation, account changes, risk-related actions and offboarding
- Establish and lead the response to payment incidents and complex client escalations, including runbooks, triage, communication, resolution, root-cause analysis and corrective-action tracking
- Own the day-to-day operating relationships with processors, sponsor banks, gateways, and acquirers, including partner performance, issue escalation and the operational implementation of new partners
- Establish scalable processes for disputes, chargebacks, returns, holds and other payment exceptions in partnership with Risk, Compliance and Finance
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert internally and externally
- Partner with Legal and Compliance to translate regulatory and contractual requirements into operational controls, documentation, audit evidence and remediation plans
- Maintain a habit of using AI tools to think, build, and ship faster—it’s your default, not an afterthought.
You have:
- 5+ years of experience in payment operations, financial operations or payment infrastructure, including several years leading teams or functions
- Direct experience working for a payment facilitator, embedded-payments platform or vertical SaaS company with integrated payments
- Experience building or scaling payment operations in a high-growth, technology-driven environment
- Strong working knowledge of ACH and card-payment flows, including authorization, capture, funding, settlement, reconciliation, refunds, chargebacks and exceptions
- Experience managing payment incidents and complex client escalations, including triage, communications, root-cause analysis and corrective actions
- Demonstrated ability to design operational controls, procedures, reporting and audit evidence in partnership with Legal, Compliance and Risk
- Experience partnering with Product and Engineering to define operational requirements, launch new payment capabilities and automate manual processes
- Strong analytical ability, including defining KPIs, identifying payment-performance issues and using data to improve reliability, risk and efficiency
- Experience building teams, establishing coverage models and creating accountability in a function where responsibilities are still evolving
- A belief that AI is reshaping work, you instinctively use it to accelerate everything you do.
Pay transparency: $175,000+ for base salary, depending on experience. Full time employee compensation includes an Incentive Stock Option (ISO) grant, subject to Board approval.

Expected onboarding process: Onboarding at Array is active, not passive: new hires spend their first two weeks building fluency in our products, customers, and value proposition, and are expected to pass scored assessments before beginning role-specific work. Success means meeting defined performance standards through a six-month evaluation period — with continuous feedback and ongoing accountability as core parts of working at Array.
