As a Discretionary Accounts Control Associate at JPMorganChase within the Private Bank in Wealth Management, you will provide first-line oversight for fiduciary accounts, partnering closely with Portfolio Management and Investor teams to support daily operations. The role focuses on ensuring adherence to client and internal investment guidelines, strengthening post-trade control processes, and proactively identifying and mitigating risk. You will also collaborate with Internal Audit, Compliance, and other control functions to remediate issues and contribute to strategic initiatives aligned to the fiduciary portfolio offering.

Job responsibilities

  • Support the ongoing oversight of fiduciary accounts and provide day-to-day control support to Portfolio Management Groups/Investors
  • Validate that investment parameters signed by clients are accurately reflected in systems and consistently applied
  • Monitor fiduciary accounts for breaches/exceptions and ensure issues are appropriately investigated, escalated, documented, and resolved
  • Support risk metrics, exception management, and mandate governance, including timely escalation where required
  • Represent the team in governance committees and contribute to control and risk discussions with stakeholders
  • Produce (and occasionally design) high-quality MI for senior regional management, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and actionable insights
  • Lead monthly reviews with Regional Investment Team Leads to discuss post-trade exceptions, trends, root causes, and remediation actions
  • Perform testing for system enhancements, new releases, and product launches to ensure control requirements are met
  • Partner with Internal Audit, Compliance, and other control functions to remediate findings and strengthen the control environment
  • Participate in projects and strategic initiatives as directed by the Head of Discretionary Control to support the fiduciary portfolio offering
     

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Experience in Controls, Risk, Audit, or Governance within financial services
  • Strong organization and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple deliverables under tight deadlines and re-prioritize effectively
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, with the ability to produce senior-ready materials
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across levels, functions, and geographies; ability to communicate clearly with diverse audiences and language backgrounds
  • Fluent English, written and spoken
  • Professional maturity, independence, and comfort handling confidential data
  • Strong interest in financial markets and investment products
  • Motivation to build a career in Wealth Management & Investment Solutions, with a genuine interest in governance, regulation, and risk management
     

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Private Banking experience is an advantage
  • Additional language proficiency beyond English
  • Exposure to analytics and automation tooling (e.g., Python, Alteryx, Tableau, Qlik Sense) is a plus
