Position Summary

The Global Technology & Solutions (GTS) organization is seeking a highly technical and business-oriented Sr. Engineer – Performance Management Platforms to lead evolution of Carlyle's Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) ecosystem.

This Sr. Engineer will own Carlyle's OneStream SaaS platform and drive the modernization of financial technology through cloud adoption, AI-enabled solutions, enterprise integrations, and engineering excellence.

The ideal candidate combines deep OneStream SaaS expertise with strong engineering leadership, exceptional stakeholder management skills, and the ability to rapidly prototype and deploy innovative business solutions using AI and modern cloud technologies.

This role will lead a team of internal and external consultants that have been supporting OneStream for over 5+ years while partnering closely with Finance, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Internal Audit, Infrastructure, Security, Product Owners, and executive leadership.

In-Office Requirement: 4 days per week in office

Primary Responsibilities

Platform Strategy & Ownership

  • Own the overall roadmap for Carlyle's OneStream Cloud platform.
  • Evaluate and implement new OneStream capabilities including Genesis, AI Studio, Dynamic Cube Services, BI Designer, and Productivity Pack.
  • Drive platform modernization while balancing stability, scalability, and business priorities.
  • Partner with Product Owner to define and prioritize the platform roadmap.

OneStream SaaS Leadership

  • Lead Carlyle's migration from OneStream On-Prem to OneStream SaaS.
  • Manage platform upgrades, release planning, and continuous adoption of new functionality.
  • Partner with OneStream and implementation partners throughout the migration lifecycle.
  • Drive platform optimization following migration.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team – 2 Internal, 3 Managed Services
  • Establish standards and best practices.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage consultants, managed service providers, and vendor relationships.

AI & Forward Deployment Engineering

  • Evaluate emerging AI technologies and identify opportunities to improve Finance processes.

Drive adoption of AI capabilities available within OneStream and complementary enterprise platforms.

Requirements

Education & Certificates

  • Bachelor’s degree, required
  • Concentration in Computer Science, Information Technology, Accounting Information Systems, or related field, strongly preferred

Professional Experience

  • 5+ years of overall relevant technical experience, required
  • Experience supporting or implementing Enterprise Performance Management (EPM/CPM) platforms.
  • 3+ years of hands-on OneStream experience.
  • Experience leading OneStream SaaS implementations or migrations.
  • Experience leading teams.
  • Strong understanding of Financial Close, Consolidation, Planning, Budgeting, Forecasting, Account Reconciliations, and Financial Reporting.
  • Experience designing enterprise integrations.
  • Experience supporting SOX-regulated financial applications.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Position-specific Technical Requirements

Enterprise Performance Management (EPM)

  • Deep hands-on experience implementing, administering, and enhancing OneStream, with demonstrated experience leading OneStream SaaS implementations or cloud migrations.
  • Strong understanding of Financial Close, Consolidation, Planning, Budgeting, Forecasting, Account Reconciliations, Financial Reporting, and Enterprise Performance Management processes.
  • Experience developing OneStream business rules, Cube Views, Dashboards, Workspaces, XF MarketPlace solutions, and platform automation.

Cloud & Enterprise Architecture

  • Strong understanding of cloud-based application architecture, SaaS platforms, enterprise integrations, and API-driven solutions.
  • Experience with cloud-native services preferred.

Data Integration & Engineering

  • Strong SQL and relational database experience.
  • Experience designing and supporting enterprise integrations using REST APIs, ETL tools, middleware, and modern integration patterns.
  • Understanding of enterprise data architecture, master data management (MDM), and data governance.
  • Experience with Python or similar programming languages preferred.

Software Engineering & DevOps

  • Experience with GitHub, source control, CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, and Agile software delivery practices.
  • Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), release management, testing, and production support.

Governance, Security & Compliance

  • Experience supporting SOX-regulated financial systems and working with Internal Audit, Security, and Risk Management teams.
  • Understanding of application security, identity management, audit trails, IT General Controls (ITGCs), and enterprise governance practices.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Demonstrated success leading and mentoring technical teams while fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions and influence decisions across cross-functional teams.

Benefits/Compensation

The compensation range for this role is specific to Washington, DC and takes into account a wide range of factors including but not limited to the skill sets required/preferred; prior experience and training; licenses and/or certifications.

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $150,000 to $170,000. 

In addition to the base salary, the hired professional will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package spanning retirement benefits, health insurance, life insurance and disability, paid time off, paid holidays, family planning benefits and various wellness programs.  Additionally, the hired professional may also be eligible to participate in an annual discretionary incentive program, the award of which will be dependent on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
