Finance Lead

Overview

We are hiring a Finance Lead (VP level) to be the operating backbone of our finance function. This is a hands-on generalist role: you'll own FP&A, accounting, and finance operations, work directly with our CFO and executive leadership, build processes from scratch, and help scale a lean, high-performing team. The right person doesn't just report on what happened. They help determine what happens next.

We are looking for an individual who can take full ownership of day-to-day financial operations and the quality of our numbers, and who can modernize how the finance function runs. If you've thrived in a fast-moving, lean environment and you know what "good" looks like at scale, this is your seat.

Key Responsibilities

• FP&A and reporting: Own budgeting, rolling forecasts, and variance analysis. Partner with department and center leaders in monthly reviews, and prepare management, board, and lender reporting with accuracy and clear financial narrative. Build the PMPM revenue and cost reporting that ties capitation to the cost of care.
• Accounting ownership: Own the monthly close and the integrity of our books, directing our external accounting partner today and helping evolve our accounting model, including building toward a more in-house, AI-enabled approach. Maintain internal controls and audit readiness, and lead audit and diligence requests.
• Financial operations: Run day-to-day finance operations, including billing, payroll accounting, A/P, A/R, capitation revenue reconciliation, medical expense and claims accruals, fixed assets and CapEx (including vehicles and transportation), and cash tracking.
• Process design and improvement: Evaluate current workflows in your first 30 days, then identify inefficiencies and implement scalable improvements within 90 days. You're not inheriting a polished machine. You're building one.
• Cross-functional partnership: Work closely with Strategy, Operations, and Expansion teams on pricing, gross margin, unit economics, and the financial case for new sites and growth opportunities.
• Support to the CFO: Provide the analysis and operating data behind scenario planning, board materials, and diligence, and partner with the CFO on financial decisions.
• Technology and tooling: Evaluate, implement, and champion finance technology, including AI-powered tools, to drive operational efficiency and better financial intelligence.
• Team leadership: Coach and develop a finance operations specialist, and help build the team as we scale.

Qualifications

Required

• 8+ years in finance, accounting, or FP&A, including experience doing FP&A and accounting together in a single role
• Healthcare industry background, ideally in value-based care, capitated or total-cost-of-care models, health plans, or PACE
• Startup or high-growth experience, ideally as the lead finance person or part of a very small team, building processes in lean settings
• Demonstrated ability to own financial operations end to end with minimal oversight
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn data into clear narrative for non-finance leaders
• Experience with utilizing technology and AI tools to create and refine finance workflows

Strongly preferred

• CPA (audit or assurance background a plus), or equivalent depth of accounting fluency
• Multi-site or multi-entity operations experience, and provider-side economics
• Experience with Sage Intacct, Ramp, Rippling, or similar finance and accounting platforms
• Experience supporting audits, lenders, or investor diligence
• Background at a VC- or PE-backed company, and exposure to a larger organization
• ERP implementation or finance automation experience

Location

Open to remote, but must be located in the USA and willing to work PST

• Salary: $160K-$200K/ year
