Role Summary/Purpose:
The Fitness & Wellness Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for the Stamford Hub Fitness Center, delivering a premium, professional standard of service consistent with a best-in-class corporate amenity. This role combines front desk operations, facility oversight, and member engagement to ensure employees have a seamless, high-quality experience that reflects positive on Synchrony’s investment in workplace wellness.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily openings and closing procedures for the Stamford Hub Fitness Center.
Manage all front desk operations, including welcoming employees and guests, checking members in, and maintaining a professional, high-quality service standard at every interaction.
Manage class and equipment bookings, proactively resolving scheduling conflicts and anticipating member needs.
Monitor the fitness floor throughout the day, engaging with members and addressing questions or needs as they arise.
Start, monitor, and close out virtual class sessions, supporting virtual instructors as needed.
Conduct InBody readings and other member wellness assessments as offered.
Restock and maintain inventory (towels, water, amenities, supplies), ensuring the facility is consistently well-stocked and presentation ready.
Coordinate with the Stamford Hub Facilities Manager on maintenance needs, equipment issues, and day-to-day facility upkeep.
Partner with Fitness Center Manager and Associate on class scheduling, instructor coordination, and programming logistics.
Serve as knowledgeable resource on class schedules, instructors, amenities, and facility policies.
Lead new member onboarding and orientation, ensuring a thorough and professional introduction to the space.
Identify and resolve operational issues efficiently with minimal disruption to members, escalating to Facilities Manager as needed.
Collect member feedback and share insights with Stamford Hub Leadership Team to support continuous improvement.
Support planning and execution of wellness programming, special events, and engagement initiatives in partnership with Workplace Experience Leader.
Maintain accurate records related to attendance, incidents, feedback, and inventory.
Manage the Stamford Hub corporate store, The Shop at Synchrony, including stocking and maintaining inventory.
Staff The Shop at Synchrony on-site one day per week to support sales.
Support other Stamford Hub duties as necessary and assigned.
Required Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in premium hospitality, fitness, or customer service environment.
CPR/AED Certification.
Professional presence with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficiency with scheduling/booking platforms and basic Microsoft Office tools.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate effectively across teams and stakeholders.
Highly reliable, detail-orientated, and able to maintain professionalism under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications:
Personal Training Certification or related fitness certification.
Experience at premium fitness brand or high-end hospitality environment.
Strong attention to detail and facility presentation standards.

Proactive problem-solving and cross-team collaboration.
Comfortable establishing standards and process for a newly launched space.
Grade/Level: 05
The hourly rate range for this position is $23.50 - $30.00/hr USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

We’re proud to offer you flexibility. At Synchrony, our way of working allows you to have the option to work from home near one of our Hubs or come into one of our offices. You will be required to commute to your nearest Hub (either virtual or physical) for in-person engagement activities such as regular business or team meetings, training and culture events.
*Field Sales and some Commercial team roles may have varied location requirements based upon partner obligations or preferences.
Eligibility Requirements:
You must be 18 years or older
You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
