Job responsibilities
- Prepare and review daily fund accounting activities and NAV-related deliverables in accordance with client requirements, service level agreements, and established operating procedures.
- Perform detailed reviews of NAV-impacting activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards and control requirements.
- Analyze accounting records, investigate discrepancies, and escalate issues that may impact fund valuation, reporting accuracy, or audit outcomes.
- Review complex bond accounting activities including manual amortization, inflation accounting, and shadow bookkeeping processes.
- Maintain accounting records in accordance with applicable GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
- Respond to accounting, audit, and operational inquiries from internal and external stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Act as a subject matter resource for team members by providing guidance on accounting, valuation, and audit-related matters.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational processes, strengthen controls, and drive efficiency initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Experience in Fund Accounting, Asset Servicing, Fund Administration, or Investment Operations.
- Strong knowledge of Mutual Funds, NAV Calculation, Fund Valuation, and Financial Reporting.
- Understanding of accounting principles, GAAP standards, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Knowledge of fixed income products, bond accounting, amortization methodologies, and securities processing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex accounting issues.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to perform comprehensive analytical reviews.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders across locations.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
- Strong risk and control mindset with commitment to operational excellence and governance standards.
- Experience with complex fixed income securities, bond amortization, inflation-linked securities, or shadow accounting.
- Knowledge of financial reporting, regulatory reporting, and audit requirements within the investment management industry.
- Experience driving process improvements, automation initiatives, or operational transformation projects.
- Professional qualifications such as CA, CFA, MBA (Finance), ACCA, or equivalent preferred.
- Prior experience mentoring junior team members or serving as an accounting subject matter expert.
