Overview
We are looking for an experienced FX Derivatives Trader at Vice President level to join our FX Derivatives Trading team in Milan.
The successful candidate will take an active role in pricing, market making and risk management across FX Options, covering G10 and/or Emerging Markets currencies and contributing to the overall performance and development of the FX Derivatives franchise.
What you'll be doing
As an FX Derivatives Trader, you will be responsible for:
- Pricing, trading and market making across FX Options, covering G10 and/or Emerging Markets currencies;
- Managing market risk arising from market-making and client-driven activit;
- Managing positions across plain-vanilla and exotics;
- Providing competitive pricing and liquidity while optimizing the risk/reward profile of the trading portfolio;
- Identifying and executing trading and hedging strategies based on market conditions, positioning and portfolio exposures;
- Working closely with Sales to support client activity through pricing, market views, trade ideas and tailored FX derivative solutions;
- Contributing to the origination, assessment and structuring of new products and client solutions;
- Contributing to the development of the FX Derivatives franchise through new business initiatives and improvements to the existing product offering;
- Collaborating with other Trading teams and international hubs to optimize risk management and market coverage;
- Contributing to the continuous enhancement of pricing models, trading tools, analytics and risk-management processes.
Who we are looking for
If you want to turn your passion into a career and you have the following characteristics, we are waiting for you:
- Approximately 3–7 years of relevant experience in FX Derivatives trading, gained within an investment bank or a compartable financial institution;
- Proven experience in FX Options market making and risk management, with direct responsibility for trading positions;
- Strong experience across G10 and/or Emerging Markets currencies;
- Solid hands-on experience in the pricing and risk management of plain-vanilla FX Options, with experience in exotic products considered highly valuable;
- Demonstrated ability to manage volatility and Greeks-based risk and dynamically hedge option portfolios;
- Experience operating within defined market and counterparty risk frameworks and trading limits;
- Strong familiarity with front-office trading, pricing and position-management systems;
- A demonstrated ability to operate autonomously and make effective trading and risk-management decisions in changing market conditions;
- A degree in Economics or STEM disciplines;
- Strong knowledge of FX markets, products, market structure and trading conventions;
- Deep understanding of derivatives pricing and risk management, particularly FX Options;
- Strong understanding of volatility markets, volatility surfaces, Greeks and the key risk factors affecting FX Options portfolios;
- Proven ability to make timely and well-informed decisions in a fast-moving market environment;
- Commercial awareness and the ability to identify opportunities that contribute to the development of the FX franchise;
- Fluency in English;
- Strong proficiency with front-office trading and analytical tools;
- Knowledge of Python, VBA or other programming/quantitative tools would be considered an advantage.
