Good things this way
Our Customer Strategy and GCC Change teams work together to understand what customers need, shape how Nationwide responds and help turn priorities into action. Their work brings customer, market and business insight together with the planning and coordination needed to deliver better outcomes.
Across the year, you’ll spend six months in each team. In Customer Strategy, you’ll use insight and evidence to identify opportunities, support strategic recommendations and help develop inclusive propositions. In GCC Change, you’ll help plan and coordinate change, understand customer impacts, risks and dependencies, and contribute to reporting and decision-making.
You’ll attend development workshops and complete a project with other industrial placement students aligned to our Social Impact strategy. By the end of the placement, you’ll understand how customer strategy and change delivery connect, with practical experience and transferable skills to support your future career.
Where you’ll be working
You’ll be part of our Group Customer & Communications function, working across our Customer Strategy and GCC Change teams. Together, they shape how Nationwide responds to customer needs and turn strategic priorities into practical, well-controlled change. You’ll work with colleagues across the function and wider Society, gaining experience of how different perspectives, risks and dependencies come together to support good customer outcomes.
Location
At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. More rewarding relationships are supported through our hybrid approach, bringing colleagues together across our UK wide estate, whilst also supporting generous access to home working. We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected.
For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, based at our Swindon Head office.
What you'll be doing on the Customer Strategy, Propositions and Change Delivery Industrial Placement
This is your opportunity to explore how a customer need can grow into an idea and become meaningful change. Across the placement, you’ll play a part in shaping thinking and helping put it into action for our customers.
Across two six-month rotations, you’ll gain practical experience of shaping customer strategy and helping turn priorities into action. In Customer Strategy, you’ll analyse customer, market and business insight, bring findings together in clear presentations and contribute to recommendations and inclusive propositions.
In GCC Change, you’ll support the planning and coordination of change, track actions and dependencies, prepare updates for decision-making meetings and work with stakeholders to understand the impact on customers. Working alongside experienced colleagues, you’ll learn how ideas move from strategy into delivery and how change is managed carefully across Nationwide.
Your placement begins with an induction and structured support to help you settle in and understand your role. Throughout the year, you’ll follow a personalised learning pathway and complete a 12-month project aligned to our Social Impact strategy with other industrial placement students, giving you the chance to apply your skills in a different context, build connections and grow in confidence.
