The Risk Management organization is an independent function within Citi which partners with the business to actively manage credit, market, operational, and franchise risks in a manner consistent with Citi’s risk appetite. The Risk Management organization establishes the policies and guidelines for risk assessment and risk management and ensures that appropriate controls and tools are in place to manage, measure, and actively mitigate risks taken by the firm.
Job Description:
Key responsibilities include regulatory compliance and reporting, and portfolio management of credit exposures across Banking, Markets and Services with primary focus on clients in Singapore. Regulatory compliance responsibilities include re-engineering, implementing control/risk management improvements, which will require partnering with 1st Line of Defense, DART, Finance and Technology to ensure that processes are in line with local regulatory requirements.
Principal Responsibilities:
Credit Risk Management
- Provide approval for LRD (“Locally Required Documentation”) for Singapore upon attaining a Credit Officer limit.
- Monitor portfolio quality, perform analysis of portfolio movements and investigation of data quality issues, if any
- Organize Singapore semi-annual portfolio reviews and prepare review materials.
Regulatory Compliance
- Liaise closely with the different Businesses, Risk teams, and Functions (e.g. Finance and Operations) to ensure accurate and timely Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) regulatory reporting, surveys, and request for information.
- Perform gap analysis on MAS new or existing regulations in consultation with Subject Matter Expert (SME) and document/create/implement relevant controls if required.
- Support regulatory governance and compliance work streams: Review and spearhead implementation of new regulatory and industry requirements which impact Singapore.
- Assist in rollout, review and maintenance of local procedures and process notes required by MAS.
Franchise Governance
- Act as a point of risk contact for Singapore Corporate Credit to coordinate internal/external review.
- Oversee Singapore corporate credit portfolio reporting for governance meeting.
Qualifications:
- 5-8 years of relevant work experience in Banking, preferably in Risk Management or other control functions with a good understanding of credit risk
- Graduate of Business-related courses, preferably Economics, Accounting or Finance; Post-graduate in Business, Finance or Accounting
- Good understanding of regional and global regulatory/industry landscape, with knowledge of the current regulatory environment and developments impacting the banking sector.
- Good knowledge of corporate banking products such as loans, trade finance, cash management, derivatives, and clearing/settlement.
- Excellent judgment and analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal and team-building skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Proven ability to work under pressure.
- Strong written and oral communication/negotiation skills, with fluency in English
- Highly organized, efficient, and able to multi-task
- Self-starter and prepared to work on own initiative
- Strong database management skills (Microsoft Excel, MS Access)
