About the position
We're looking for a Graphic Designer to join our Creative Engagement team and bring visual life to the financial, technological and mathematical work happening at Jane Street. In this role, you'll help shape and care for how the firm looks across our many departments, programmes, spaces and events.
Our work is deeply intellectual, so we're hoping to find someone who loves taking abstract ideas and turning them into clear, engaging designs that celebrate the thoughtful things our colleagues are doing across the company.
The variety of work is what our designers love most: you might find yourself creating print and digital assets for recruiting materials, giving a conference booth its visual identity, bringing our puzzles and games to life, developing swag and branded packaging, shaping logos and brand systems and much more. We work collaboratively, so you'll get to be a design generalist and pitch in wherever the team needs you.
No previous finance experience is needed—just genuine curiosity and an enthusiasm for interesting design challenges. We do ask for a portfolio when you apply.
About you
- Have 6+ years of design experience across a range of project types and scales
- Have excellent taste, with strong typography, layout and colour fundamentals and meticulous attention to detail
- Comfortable running several projects at once at different stages, taking some from brief to final files, picking up others midway
- Understand production: prepress, spec'ing for fabrication and handoff to web dev
- Proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and PowerPoint, and comfortable in Google Suite, especially Slides and Docs
- Happy to present your work to stakeholders, and you treat feedback and iteration as part of the fun of solving a design puzzle
- Give clear, useful feedback on other designers' work
- Curious about what you're designing for—you'll happily ask a colleague to explain the maths or the trading concept behind a project
- Fluent in English
