Head of Capital-Light Savings & Retirement 80-100%new

This is an opportunity to lead the global strategy, commercial performance and development of Zurich’s capital-light Savings & Retirement business, including Unit-Linked, ensuring propositions remain competitive, relevant to customers and positioned for evolving insurance and asset-management markets. With a forward-thinking and results-oriented approach, you will mobilise teams across markets and functions to turn strategy into execution.

What you will do

• Own the global commercial and performance agenda, including net flows, assets under management, margin, profitability and customer outcomes.
• Define the global strategy and proposition roadmap, determining where Zurich should build, scale, adapt, partner or exit.
• Anticipate market and customer developments, particularly the convergence of insurance, investments and asset management.
• Develop compelling end-to-end customer propositions across accumulation, financial planning, protection, retirement transition and decumulation.
• Accelerate product innovation, distribution and customer engagement across bank, agent, broker and direct channels.
• Use data, digital platforms and AI to improve personalisation, investment solutions, customer engagement and efficiency.
• Build strategic partnerships with asset managers, banks, platforms, reinsurers and fintechs where they accelerate capability or growth.
• Establish effective Group and Business Unit governance and decision rights across Investments, Distribution, Risk, Finance, Technology, Operations and Compliance.
• Lead a small central team while mobilising execution across Business Units and functions.

What you bring

• Significant financial-services experience across multiple markets, ideally spanning life insurance, investments, wealth or capital markets.
• Demonstrable ownership of commercial outcomes in a sizeable savings, pensions, wealth or investment business.
• Strong understanding of capital markets, portfolio construction and retail investment structures, including funds, ETFs and other investment solutions.
• Experience designing, scaling and managing propositions across multiple markets and through the full product lifecycle.
• Strong understanding of distribution across bank, agent, broker and direct channels.
• Sound understanding of customer, conduct, regulatory, tax, capital and value-for-money considerations.
• A track record of using digital, data, AI or platforms to transform savings, wealth or retirement businesses.
• Strong strategic, commercial and technical judgement, with the ability to translate strategy into execution.
• An entrepreneurial, hands-on player-coach who can operate effectively in a complex global matrix and influence without direct authority.
• Excellent communication, collaboration and influencing skills. German, Spanish and/or Italian would be advantageous.
