The Claims department

AIG’s Nordic Commercial claims team is located across Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway and covers many different lines of business, such as Property, Special Risks, Financial Lines and Casualty claims. The Nordic Commercial Claims team works closely with both claims partners located outside the Nordic cluster as well with stakeholders within the Nordic organization, i.e., our Underwriting departments, Nordic Distribution teams and our Fraud department. The team has been undergoing a transition and we are now in the early days of defining the strategy for the next 3 year period, ie. work with our strategic partner on continuous improvement on competence and quality.

 

The position

In this role, you will be expected to lead and manage the Nordic Claims organization, Casualty, FL and PSR, define the strategy to achieve the objectives and be part of as well as manage a range of interesting projects aligned with the global commercial claim strategy. You will be part of the Nordic Claims Leadership team and report directly into our Nordic Head of Claims. In addition, selection of tasks:

• Work closely with Underwriters and Distribution to support our business growth and existing clients.
• Ensure that claims are settle fairly and promptly.
• Manage overall relationships, communications and operational links with Profit Centre, Regional Office, and business partners.
• Ensure operational compliance in the handling of claims as well as ensuring that customer complaints are managed properly.
• Manage resources, staff competency, claims workflow and service performance levels for the overall betterment and continuous improvements.
• Oversee the preparation and delivery of all claims management reports ensuring promptness and accuracy.
• To carry out claims audit and controls.
• To involve in projects that affect claim’s structure and workflow, including system related matters, to ensure operational efficiency.
• To develop staff to respond to department needs, as well as assisting the claims staff with career development.
• To manage and control expenses within budget.
• To ensure quality management of claims in accordance with best practices.
• To identify succession and vulnerability plans through developmental opportunities, recruiting, sourcing or internal appointment.

What we are looking for

• Extensive experience in managing Casualty, FL and PSR insurance products
• Previous claims experience, preferably in managing in all lines of business
• Solid leadership experience and interpersonal skills, preferably on a cross country basis
• Fluent in one or more Nordic languages (Danish, Swedish or Norwegian, excellent skills in English, both verbal and written.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
