The Chief Data Office (CDO) aims to provide strong data governance and high data quality across the bank.  One of key the pillars of CDO is the Data Quality Management team which defines frameworks and manages processes to improve data quality across the bank’s key capabilities.

You will join the CDO Data Quality Management team and will be reporting directly to the Head of Data Quality Management.
 

You will be responsible for defining and implementing the Data Quality Testing Framework, collaborating across business aligned data offices, process owners and technology. You will support the bank’s regulatory commitments related to Data Management and will build out the operating model for data quality testing. You will establish effective governance, management reporting and KPIs to business and infrastructure divisions to measure continuous improvement in the bank’s data quality.

Your key responsibilities

  • Establishes Data Quality Testing Framework, including roles and responsibilities, prioritisation criteria, approach for rules execution, exception management, KPIs, and senior level governance and reporting with oversight over dependencies across the organisation (including other KDs)

  • Directly responsible for interfacing with the regulators and supporting any regulatory or internal audit on topics related to Data Quality Testing being implemented as part of our Data Strategy

  • Works across DDOs and other stakeholders to align and resolve accountability conflicts arising as part of DQ testing set up and implementation

  • Review Tooling requirements and support implementation of right capabilities and processes for scalable, efficient and automated data quality testing operating model, working in partnership with stakeholders across divisions, Technology and Architecture. 

  • Provide subject matter expertise to guide divisional adoption of testing standards and to ensure consistent application across the bank

  • Provide guidance, coaching, and training to teams and stakeholders on data quality testing approach, testing methodologies and process

Your skills and experience

  • Deep understanding of front-to-back data supply chain at large and complex financial institutions including regulatory frameworks (e.g., BCBS 239, GDPR) to ensure compliance

  • Extensive experience in designing and managing control processes, identifying opportunities to automate manual processes, and partnering with IT to implement technology-driven solutions.

  • Good knowledge of data management standards, with familiarity in data governance frameworks and leading industry practices (e.g., DAMA, DCAM)

  • Experience with design and implementation of risk-based frameworks, Data Quality KPIs, and compensating controls

  • Proven experience in building and leading high-performing teams as well as ability to work in a matrix environment on project deliverables with complex dependencies on other teams

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including up to Management Board; experience interfacing with U.S, Europe and/or other global regulators

  • Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs
