About the Position 

As the Head of Trade & Working Capital (TWC) China and Head of Trade Product China, you will be responsible for driving the product strategy, development, maintenance and commercialization of the Supply Chain Finance (SCF) and Core Trade services that J.P. Morgan delivers to our clients out of China, reporting into the Global Core Trade Product Head as well as the APAC SCF Product Head.   In addition, you will have P&L responsibility, assure proper solution sets are built across all segments, keep up to date with all market and regulatory items impacting the products, and assure day to day programs and service are managed.  The role includes extensive collaboration with Sales, Operations, Service, Technology, Risk, Legal, Compliance and Legal. 

Responsibilities

  • Help define product strategy to achieve enhanced capabilities, reduce risk, increase operational efficiency, and drive increased revenue in line with the Global Strategy.  
  • Full P&L Ownership including delivery of revenue goals, achievement of expense targets, management of cost allocations and introduction of product-specific initiatives to measure/improve product profitability. 
  • Assess current client portfolio and identify opportunities to tweak existing business flows to grow JPM wallet share from existing client base.  
  • Anticipate internal and external factors impacting business and implementing plans to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.  
  • Work closely with the other product managers within the group and in other regions to provide integrated solutions to our clients. Structure and present reporting and updates to senior management 
  • Understand the risks (Tax, Legal And Compliance) inherent in the product and drive programs to reduce risk
  • Conduct new product development including implementing product extensions for current product offerings in light of evolving market trends, client requirements, geographic expansion and regulatory change for both FI and corporate segments, whilst managing all stakeholders 
  • Interface with sales to provide technical product support to trade sale professionals and other sales functions. Provide regional product leadership and guidance. RFP support
  • Review marketing materials, sales presentations and product slip sheets against bank policies and market intelligence
  • Define Business Requirements and specifications including conceptual and detail design for new initiatives, in partnership with IT and Ops 
  • Provide internal and external product advocacy through active participation at industry forums, conferences, working groups and media comms
  • Provide Trade Finance market updates and guidance on new regulations/directives/rules impacting
  • Conduct internal training sessions for multiple disciplines
  • Work as part of a small team with minimal day to day supervision

 

Experience

  • The candidate to demonstrate your proven product management and development experience within a Wholesale, Investment or Commercial bank
  • Experience of Trade Finance from either a Product, Sales, Operations or Client Service perspective. The candidate will have an understanding of the Trade Finance products including its operation, process flow and financials. This also includes strong knowledge of corporate finance, corporate credit and legal risk. 
  • Strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit
  • The candidate to be able to demonstrate that they are a strategic thinker with the ability to motivate and drive tactical execution. 
  • Exceptional organization,  management of multiple tasks and time management skills
  • Able to give examples of presentation and influencing skills both with clients and internal partnerships 
  • Experience with and/or prior collaboration with Sales, Legal and Compliance, Operations and Technology 
  • Creative problem solver, capable of developing innovative and differentiated solutions 
  • Strong presentation and communication skills; can sell self and ideas 
  • Ability to proactively distribute thought expertise 
  • Requires travel (15%) 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
