About the Role

 

In this role, you will lead ANZ's Transaction Banking (TB) business in the Philippines, with overall accountability for business performance, profitability, risk, governance, regulatory obligations, and people leadership. You will drive the growth and market position of the TB franchise across Payments & Cash Management (PCM) and Trade & Supply Chain (TSC), leading high-performing teams to deliver exceptional client outcomes and strategic business results aligned to ANZ's Institutional strategy.
 
As a strong commercial leader, you will combine expertise in client management, sales execution, risk oversight, and talent development to foster a disciplined, collaborative, and client-centric culture, while driving sustainable growth and maximizing opportunities across the ANZ network.

What will your day look like?

As Head of Transaction Banking - Philippine, you will be responsible to:

 

  • Lead the sales team in Philippines to achieve and deliver the targeted growth in financial performance and profitability metrics
  • Drive sales momentum and customer pipelines for new revenue and growth across new and existing customer relationships
  • Build network (catch and throw) revenues for ANZ and TB, working with a “total effort sales” mindset to maximize revenue and profitability for the ANZ network 
  • Meet all aspects of financial plan, including balance sheet targets (Revenue, ROE%, NIM%, ZCEP, Liabilities and Assets)
  • Manage direct costs (e.g. personnel, travel and entertainment)
  • Drive effective sales planning and execution, including pipeline management, account planning, RFP/RFI responses, in close collaboration with Coverage
  • Lead a ‘client-centricity culture’ through collaborative account planning with Coverage / Segment heads and wallet-sizing exercises and implement active calling programs.
  • Support Implementation team in smooth migration of clients onto new channels, e.g. Transactive Global
  • Support and enable the TB operational efficiency agenda
  • Implement and manage Risk & Controls in line with TB guidelines, policies and procedures
  • Where accountable, partner with Audit team and ensure no overdue audit items or exceptions treatment plans
  • Limit non-lending losses (NLL) through prompt escalation and root-cause analysis
  • Ensure all mandatory training completed and all compulsory leave taken
  • Act in accordance with the ANZ Values, Code of Conduct, and policies
  • Proactively recognise future requirements arising from the business strategy
  • Ongoing vigilance for early signs of credit quality deterioration and taking appropriate action, including proactively improving the quality and integrity of data and analysis of accounts

What will you bring?


To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

 

  • Extensive senior leadership experience in Transaction Banking, with a strong track record across multiple geographic markets and client segments.
  • Deep understanding of Transaction Banking, the broader banking industry, competitive landscape, and market dynamics.
  • Proven expertise in strategy execution, governance, regulatory compliance, risk management, and control frameworks.
  • Strong people leadership, influencing, and change management capabilities, with experience driving outcomes through cross-functional collaboration.
  • Demonstrated commercial and financial acumen, including business performance management, operational excellence, and process optimisation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Banking, or a related discipline, with relevant risk management certification and extensive experience in corporate, commercial, or institutional banking.
