Job Description
Job Purpose
The Human Resource Manager will oversee and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the HR department. He/she will manage and administer the human resources strategy, policies and procedures of the school.
Qualifications
Core Responsibilities
- Coordinate and drive the implementation of recruitment strategies and plans to identify, select, hire and retain the best talent to meet the school’s manpower needs
- Liaise with the various functional heads to plan and forecast the school’s workforce requirements
- Periodically track, monitor and recommend updates to the school’s organisation structure, manning levels and job descriptions
- Coordinate all matters relating to employee appointments and promotion
- Identify employee learning and development requirements and establish programs to bridge identified gaps
- Coordinate and drive the implementation of the school’s performance management and appraisal system to ensure it is objective, equitable, transparent and merit-driven
- Assist the school's management in defining, developing and implementing appropriate strategies for managing employee reward and recognition systems
- Oversee the administration of employee welfare and compensation package (pension, medical, insurance and other benefits)
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing
- Promote a conducive working climate by maintaining effective relationships with employees to understand and manage their needs and concerns, consistent with the school’s goals
- Oversee and coordinate accurate maintenance and updates of staff records and database
- Manage and resolve staff disciplinary issues, grievances and appeals
- Ensure compliance with all government and HR policies
- Keep abreast of all recent employment policies and advise the management accordingly
- Prepare and submit periodic activity/management reports to the Principal on HR activities
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Principal
Education and Work Experience
- First degree or its equivalent in any discipline, preferably in any of the humanities
- Postgraduate/professional qualification (e.g. Master's in Human Resource Management, Chartered Institute of Personnel Development Certification or Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM).
- Minimum of Ten (10) years relevant experience, of which at least three (3) must have been in a managerial capacity.
- Proficiency in the use of Sage HR software.

- Ability to think strategically and holistically and to appreciate the systematic impact of various policies, practices, issues and solutions on various stakeholders within the School

- Good communication and interviewing skills
