Role details and how to fit into the team
Join the Spain Investment Banking and Capital Markets team in Madrid as an Investment Banking Associate. This role is ideal for professionals with 2+ years of Investment Banking and/or M&A experience who are looking to support the origination and execution of mergers and acquisitions, capital markets and financing transactions, while providing strategic advice to corporate clients.
Responsibilities
- Execute mergers and acquisitions, equity capital markets and financing transactions from initial analysis through completion.
- Build and review financial models, company valuations and quantitative analyses to support client recommendations and transaction decisions.
- Prepare clear presentations and tailored materials for discussions with clients, investors and senior investment bankers.
- Research companies, industries and market trends to identify opportunities and provide relevant strategic insights.
- Coordinate with clients, advisers and internal product teams to deliver high-quality work across origination and execution projects.
Skills
- Practical experience in investment banking, capital markets, leveraged finance, transaction advisory, consulting or a relevant Big Four environment.
- Strong financial modelling, company valuation, quantitative analysis and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage several priorities, work accurately under pressure and take ownership of deliverables.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the confidence to work with clients, advisers and senior stakeholders; Strong Spanish and English skills.
- A finance-related academic background is useful; engineering graduates with relevant finance training are also encouraged to apply.
- Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.
