As Investment Director, Advisory Services (Corporate Turnaround), you are involved in corporate restructuring, refinancing, reinvestment, divestment, and insolvency situations. You will act as a strategic partner for companies facing operational, financial, or governance challenges. Your expertise will help identify value creation drivers, mobilize key players, and implement concrete solutions that promote the recovery, long-term viability and growth of companies. You will be responsible for a portfolio of companies in which Desjardins Capital has a debt and/or equity investment. You will be involved in complex situations where your business judgment, leadership, and ability to take action will have a direct impact on the future of businesses and the protection of Desjardins Capital’s investments. More specifically, you will be required to:
- Ensure the objectives of the Advisory Management team are met, namely protecting the value ($) invested in companies facing challenges.
- Identify strategic issues and implement solutions to protect and maximize the value of investments.
- Support business executives in the development and execution of restructuring plans to restore their financial and operational performance.
- Work in close collaboration with investment teams, external partners, and other key players to ensure the effective execution of the selected strategies.
- Maintain an appropriate network of contacts (restructuring professionals) who can be called upon to work closely with Desjardins Capital.
- Recommend innovative directions, strategies, policies, practices, and tools aimed at supporting and improving the productivity and expertise of internal resources in the context of turnaround or insolvency files.
- Ensure quality, coordinate and disseminate information related to the financial monitoring of at-risk businesses.
- Train and coach investment directors on turnaround best practices.
- Support your manager in strategic projects and/or business process improvement.

What you bring to the table
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance or accounting, or a related field
- A minimum of eight years of relevant experience, including at least five years in corporate turnaround and insolvency
- Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
- Experience in SME financing, ideally in venture capital or development capital
- Knowledge of French is required
