About the role: We have an exciting new opportunity for a Junior Economist to join this small yet influential team reporting to our Chief Economist. This role plays a key role in supporting the development and communication of macroeconomic views that inform investment decision-making across the business. You will contribute to developing the house's economic perspectives. You will also assess how global macroeconomic developments affect asset allocation and portfolio positioning. Operating as an experienced individual contributor, the role combines technical macroeconomic expertise with strong communication skills and proactive idea generation, supporting the Economic Research team in shaping investment outcomes within a large and evolving multi-asset investment framework. What you'll be doing: Monitor, analyse and interpret key macroeconomic indicators, including growth, inflation, labour markets and monetary policy Deliver high-quality macroeconomic research and contribute to the development of house economics views Translate macroeconomic developments into clear investment implications across asset classes Support scenario analysis and the development of macro frameworks to inform asset allocation decisions Build and maintain macroeconomic models, dashboards and analytical tools Take ownership of economic reporting and ensure timely, accurate communication to stakeholders Contribute to investment discussions through clear articulation of views and insights Support external communication, including presentations, publications and client-facing content About you: Essential Criteria: Previous experience in a similar role as a professional Economist, with a degree in Economics or similar. Strong understanding of macroeconomics, global financial markets, and monetary policy frameworks Ability to analyse economic developments and translate them into actionable investment insights Experience building or using macroeconomic models and scenario frameworks Strong technical capability in Excel, PowerPoint and Bloomberg Ability to harness artificial intelligence tools for productivity gains and automating processes Strong understanding of how macroeconomic insights inform multi-asset investment decisions and asset allocation Awareness of how investment views are used by portfolio managers, advisers and clients Understanding of the wealth management industry and client outcome focus Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex macro concepts clearly Desirable Criteria: Relevant professional qualification desirable (e.g. CFA) Coding skills (e.g. Python or R) -
