About the role

We are seeking an accomplished Key Account Manager to lead a portfolio of New Zealand’s largest and most strategically important business customers  

In this highly visible role, you’ll partner with senior decision makers including CEO’s, CFO’s, Chief People Officers, HR Directors, Remuneration Managers and Health & Safety Executives, to understand their business priorities and deliver solutions that strengthen employee health, wellbeing and engagement

Through strategic account leadership, you’ll drive growth, retention and enduring partnerships that help organisations create healthier, more engaged workforces where people feel valued because their employer invests in their wellbeing.   

 

As a senior member of our Business Engagement team, you will: 

  • Manage a portfolio of large, complex, multi-million dollar corporate and enterprise accounts. 

  • Develop and execute strategic account plans that drive retention, growth and long-term customer value.   

  • Build trusted, multi-level relationships with senior leaders and decision-makers across customer organisations. 

  • Lead high-value commercial discussions with executive stakeholders, negotiating commercial renewals, leading business reviews and influencing strategic initiatives, while balancing customer outcomes with long-term commercial sustainability. 

  • Act as a strategic partner to customers, helping them maximise the value and impact of their investment in employee health and wellbeing 

  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences and drive engagement initiatives. 

  • Identify, nurture and win new business opportunities through relationship-led sales activities, compelling proposals, and successful tender responses. 

 

About you 

To succeed in this role, you'll bring: 

  • A demonstrated ability of managing large, strategically important Enterprise and Key Accounts within a complex B2B environment. 

  • A proven track record of developing and maintaining strategic influential relationships with senior executives and key stakeholders. 

  • Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated success negotiating, influencing and delivering outcomes at C-suite and senior leadership level.  

  • Expertise in managing complex B2B customer portfolios, and achieving retention, growth and long-term partnership outcomes. 

  • A genuine customer and partnership mindset, with the ability to understand customer priorities, challenge thinking constructively and create solutions that deliver meaningful value for both the customer and Southern Cross. 

  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence and credibility to engage and influence senior decision-makers. 

  • Strategic thinking, sound judgement, adaptability and a highly collaborative approach to working across diverse stakeholder groups. 

  • Experience within health and wellbeing, employee benefits, health insurance or financial services will be highly regarded.
