Lead Architect-Solution Architecturenew

JPMorgan Chase (JPMC) · Other

A career with us is a journey, not a destination. This could be the next best step in your technical career. Join us.

As a Lead Architect at JPMorganChase within the Corporate Sector, enterprise architecture and governance function, you will lead architecture reviews for high-impact initiatives and set scalable standards teams can reuse. You will partner across engineering, cybersecurity, and risk functions to identify key architectural risks early and drive clear, well-documented outcomes. You will also establish measurable processes and metrics that improve delivery speed while strengthening resilience, security, and regulatory readiness.

You will shape how complex, regulated platforms are designed, reviewed, and approved—so delivery teams can move faster without compromising security or control. By creating reusable standards and repeatable governance, you will reduce rework, improve consistency, and help teams make high-quality architecture decisions with confidence.

Job responsibilities

  • Design and publish reference architectures and reusable patterns for recurring enterprise scenarios, including third-party connectivity, identity federation (OAuth 2.0/OpenID Connect and mutual TLS), and secure data flows involving personally identifiable information and Know Your Customer data
  • Lead architecture and high-level design reviews end-to-end, identifying architecturally significant risks and driving timely, documented decisions in partnership with cybersecurity and risk stakeholders
  • Establish scalable governance through self-service checklists and pre-review criteria that improve consistency, reduce avoidable rework, and keep senior review focused on novel risk
  • Co-lead an architecture council model that maintains standards, decision records, and an escalation path for cross-cutting architecture topics
  • Provide architectural direction for automation and artificial intelligence initiatives, ensuring designs align to governed execution patterns and secure-by-design principles
  • Define, publish, and continuously improve outcome-based metrics such as review cycle time, pattern reuse rate, remediation throughput, and time-to-approval
  • Evaluate third-party products and services for architectural fit, security posture, and integration approach, enabling informed decisions that balance speed, resilience, and risk
  • Partner with delivery teams to drive adoption of approved patterns through enablement, practical guidance, and integration into engineering workflows
  • Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
  • Establishes reuse-first AI-enabled engineering patterns and governance across SDLC/toolchain practices, ensuring traceability/auditability, resiliency, and security controls.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on architecture concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Strong knowledge of cloud architecture (Amazon Web Services) and modern application programming interface design, including secure integration approaches and failure-aware design
  • Demonstrated ability to design secure data flows and controls for sensitive data in regulated environments
  • Proven track record producing reference architectures and reusable standards that multiple teams adopted and reused
  • Experience partnering with cybersecurity, risk, and compliance stakeholders to reach documented, defensible architecture outcomes
  • Excellent written communication skills, including producing high-quality design documents, decision records, and executive-ready summaries
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure architecture and secure design patterns in a multi-cloud context
  • Understanding of network architecture and security design principles supporting complex integrations
  • Familiarity with automation architecture concepts, including robotic process automation patterns and associated control considerations
  • Ability to evaluate and integrate AI-enabled capabilities into cloud-native architectures while meeting resiliency, security, and auditability requirements.
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Experience with artificial intelligence or machine learning platform architecture, agentic automation frameworks, or Model Context Protocol-style integrations
  • Experience building or scaling an architecture practice, governance council, or standards program (beyond delivering individual projects)
  • Data platform and connectivity experience (for example, document databases, business intelligence tooling, or external registry integrations)
  • Experience designing and measuring process improvements that materially reduce approval times and increase reuse of vetted patterns
