The Chief Client Office (CCO) is dedicated to engaging customers, industry groups, and key stakeholders to enhance customer experience and create measurable value for S&P Global. Within the CCO, the Client Coverage team accelerates growth through strategic partnerships with key accounts, fostering cross-functional collaboration to deliver comprehensive solutions and maximize customer success.
Responsibilities and Impact:
• Shape the long-term strategy for key accounts, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and representing the organization externally as a thought leader and subject matter expert.
• Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts and pursue new client relationships, translating identified opportunities into a commercial strategy at the most senior levels.
• Build and maintain executive-level relationships with key internal and external customers and stakeholders, driving strategic alignment and influencing market trends to achieve enterprise objectives.
• Use data, analytics, AI-enabled tools, CRM discipline, and client intelligence to improve pipeline management, account planning, opportunity identification, productivity, and decision-making.
• Plan, coordinate, and participate in new business/client prospecting, providing strategic and innovative solutions to solve complex problems with multiple sources of input.
• Monitor and evaluate key customer strategies, business trends, and growth priorities, leveraging market understanding to institute methodologies, standards, and best practices within the organization and market.
• Provide transparent financial and operational assessments of the health of our customer relationships, demonstrating financial and budget responsibility for their respective business area.
• Partner and collaborate across various internal multidisciplinary teams (e.g., sales, marketing, product development) to ensure cohesive execution of strategies and initiatives that meet client needs, providing subject matter expertise and strategic oversight.
• Lead negotiations and contract discussions to secure profitable deals, reducing contractual and commercial friction to improve customer experience, while understanding the costs and benefits of each solution.
• Develop industry-specific knowledge and drive thought leadership across the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and cross-divisional commercial organizations, actively influencing the market rather than merely observing trends, and applying this understanding to institute new methodologies and standards.
• All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week.
Compensation/Benefits Information: S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $176,306k to $312,090. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan and equity.
What We’re Looking For:
Basic Required Qualifications:
• An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 15+ years of experience in strategic client management, business development, or a related field, with a proven track record of driving significant revenue growth and market influence.
• Demonstrated ability to understand global market trends, translate them into a long-term vision, and operate effectively within significant levels of complexity and ambiguity.
• Strong data, analytics, and AI fluency, with the ability to use client intelligence, market insight, and technology-enabled tools to improve decision-making and commercial execution.
• Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to explain complex market, client, and business issues clearly to a range of audiences.
• Exceptional relationship management skills, including building and maintaining relationships with key internal and external customers and stakeholders at the executive level, and representing the organization externally.
• Proven expertise as a recognized thought leader and subject matter expert, both externally and internally, with the ability to articulate complex ideas across diverse audiences and negotiate effectively to agree on solutions.
• Role model in fostering inclusivity, managing emotions and biases to achieve optimal business outcomes, and driving collaboration across cross-functional organizations to influence and build strategy.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in leading a highly visible business area, region, or important business process, demonstrating the ability to determine priorities and establish broad plans connected with the overall enterprise strategy.
• A strong track record of influencing market trends, instituting innovative methodologies and standards, and leading others in embodying S&P Global's purpose and values and connecting them to daily work.
• Demonstrated ability to manage risks effectively, pivot direction and delegate responsibilities to maximize opportunities, and challenge whole systems and processes to define sustainable courses of action seeking input from various sources for engagement and sustainability.
• Proven capacity to actively seek diverse opinions and build consensus for strategic solutions, ensuring initiatives take into account their impact across all relevant areas of the organization, and proactively engaging cross-functionally to leverage expertise.
