Work Location

This position will report onsite to the Bend-Old Mill and is possibly eligible for a hybrid onsite and remote work arrangement for those who meet the program requirements.

Compensation

  • Base Salary: 
    • The full salary range for the Mortgage Loan Officer position is $20.00 to $30.00 per hour. 
    • Spanish-language differential: Candidates who pass the Spanish language assessment will be eligible to earn an additional $1-$2 per hour.
  • Commissions: This position is eligible to earn commissions in addition to base salary. Commissions range from $0 - no max with the average Mortgage Loan Officer earning $9,500 per month over the past 18 months. We are making changes to future commission schedule that we anticipate increasing the average commissions earnings to $12,000 per month and ranging from being $10,000 to $15,000 per month.
  • Incentives: This position is eligible for monthly incentives that range from $5.00 to $30.00, per sold product/service. 
  • Annual Incentive: In addition, all SELCO team members receive an annual incentive based on how well SELCO meets the prior year’s strategic business goals. This incentive is calculated using the team member’s prior year eligible earnings (commissions are NOT eligible earnings, but base pay is) and ranges from 0%-12% (with the average payout over the last five years being 11.07%).

Position Overview

Promote SELCO Mortgage and generate mortgage loan business.

SELCO Core Essential Functions

Position-specific Essential Functions

  1. Interview mortgage loan applicants and review credit and other criteria to determine proper mortgage loan program.
  2. Respond and follow-up on mortgage inquiries in a timely manner.
  3. Assist mortgage applicants with loan application process.
  4. Ensure that each mortgage loan is processed in a timely and accurate manner from the initial interview to submission and through funding.
  5. Maintain and demonstrate thorough knowledge of mortgage loan program specific requirements.
  6. Develop mortgage loan business through seminars, contact with realtors, contractors, other institutions, and potential borrowers.

Education and Experience

  1. High school diploma or equivalent; and
  2. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; and 
  3. At least two (2) years of experience in mortgage loan origination; and
  4. Must maintain minimum education and exam requirements in accordance with Department of Finance and Corporate Securities and Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System State Registration (this requirement may be waived at manager’s discretion for employee’s first ninety (90) days); and
  5. Must be bondable.

Physical Demands 

While performing the job duties, approximately 90% of the time is spent stationary, with the remaining time spent moving around work areas. Frequent communication occurs in person, over the phone, and in writing. This position requires the ability to view a computer screen and interpret printed materials and other documents. This position requires the ability to lift and transport up to 5 pounds, and there is an occasional need to stoop, kneel, or reach to access documents, equipment, and supplies.

Reports to: Director of SELCO Mortgage
Work areas are inside a climate-controlled environment with background noise.
