Wed, 26 Aug 2026Looking for a role where you can build specialist knowledge, gain recognised qualifications and develop a long-term career in financial services?
As a Planning Co-ordinator, you’ll help members make progress towards their financial goals by supporting our Financial Advisers with the information, insight and documentation needed to shape suitable recommendations. From planning for retirement to making the most of investments, your work will play a part in helping members feel more confident about their financial future.
You’ll build your understanding of investments and the financial planning process, while developing valuable technical and analytical skills. With the opportunity to work towards the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning, this role can provide a strong foundation for a range of future career paths, whether that’s progressing into Financial Advice or building your experience within supporting teams across the Financial Advice function.
At Skipton, we're founded on fairness. We exist to do right by our members - and we believe that starts with doing right by our people. So whoever you are and whatever you bring, there's a place for you here and a genuine plan for where you go next.
What You’ll Do
We’re here to make our members’ money work harder. But it takes more than one kind of role to make that happen. Across our Money team, you’ll find people supporting savings, investments and financial advice, alongside the teams behind the scenes who keep things moving, spot what could work better, and help turn good ideas into practical change.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Support Financial Advisers with more complex advice cases, helping bring together the information needed to shape suitable recommendations for members
Analyse investment research, tax calculations and customer information to support clear, well-evidenced financial planning decisions
Prepare suitability reports and supporting documents that help Financial Advisers explain recommendations clearly to members
Complete mid-appointment activity on system, making sure case details are accurate, complete and ready for the next stage of the advice journey
Coordinate multiple adviser cases at once, balancing priorities, managing detail and keeping work moving to agreed timescales
Work closely with Financial Advisers and colleagues across the Financial Advice function to support a joined-up journey and help members make progress towards their financial goals
What You’ll Need
The ability to bring structure to busy workloads, staying organised across multiple priorities and keeping things moving to agreed timescales
A strong eye for detail, with a commitment to quality and accuracy, especially when working with customer information, reports and case documentation
Comfortable interpreting information and using your judgement, while working collaboratively with Financial Advisers and supporting teams to keep cases moving and support good, fair customer outcomes
Able to communicate clearly, build strong working relationships with stakeholders, ask thoughtful questions, share updates, manage expectations and constructively challenge where appropriate
Awareness of Financial Advice, investment products or a regulated Financial Services environment would be helpful, along with curiosity and appetite to build on this knowledge while working towards the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning
Please note: support towards obtaining the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning is only available to permanent colleagues.

About Skipton.
Our story began in 1853 in Skipton, North Yorkshire. Today, you’ll find us across England and Scotland, from Aberdeen to Plymouth.
We help over a million members put down roots, save for what matters, and feel good about their money. As a mutual, they own us, so everything we do is for them. You'll feel that same fairness and purpose in how all 2,500 of our colleagues work together, too.
It all means that life at Skipton is more exciting than you imagine.

At Skipton we value work life balance and are proud to support hybrid and flexible working. This opportunity is for 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday on a 12 month fixed term contract and you’ll spend a minimum of 3 days a week collaborating with colleagues at our Head Office in Skipton.
We also value what everyone brings to Skipton. And we create a fair place where you can be yourself. Our colleague networks play a big role in this. They connect people with similar life experiences and make our workplace warm, friendly, inclusive and welcoming.
It’s not just our members who are important to us.
You are, too.
Lots of organisations talk about wellbeing, but they don’t always back it up. As a mutual, we put people first. And that includes the people who work here. So, when we say we care about your wellbeing, we mean it.
Wellbeing isn't just one thing. It’s about feeling good, having energy, and being able to be yourself and perform at your best. That’s why we offer help for your mental and physical health across five key areas.
What’s more, it’s help that you can actually use too - not just read about.
