The Product Manager, Chequing, reporting to the Group Product Manager, Chequing, supports the strategy, performance, and lifecycle management of chequing products. The role contributes to business growth, customer experience, and profitability through analysis, product management, cross-functional collaboration, and effective execution of strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Product Management & Lifecycle Support
- Supports the development and execution of product strategies aligned to business objectives
- Manages day-to-day product activities across the product lifecycle, including enhancements, launches, optimization initiatives, and product maintenance
- Contributes to business cases, product recommendations, and roadmap development
- Identifies market opportunities and recommends product improvements based on customer and business insights
- Supports delivery of strategic product initiatives and change programs
Performance Management & Business Analysis
- Monitors product performance against business objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Analyzes financial, customer, and operational results to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
- Develops recommendations to improve growth, customer outcomes, and profitability
- Supports forecasting, business planning, and performance reporting activities
Customer, Market & Competitive Insights
- Conducts market research, competitive analysis, and trend monitoring
- Analyzes customer behaviour, feedback, and channel performance to identify opportunities for improvement
- Develops insights and recommendations to enhance product value propositions and customer experience
- Supports evaluation of emerging market trends and competitor activity
Data, Analytics & Reporting
- Defines and documents business requirements for analytics and reporting needs
- Partners with analytics teams to develop reporting, dashboards, and performance insights
- Monitors product and portfolio performance trends and highlights key findings
- Prepares regular reporting and presentations for leadership and stakeholder groups
Risk, Compliance & Governance
- Supports compliance with legal, regulatory, and risk management requirements
- Identifies and escalates product risks, issues, and control gaps
- Assists in maintaining product documentation, policies, procedures, and governance requirements
- Participates in audits, regulatory reviews, and risk assessments as required
Stakeholder & Partner Management
- Collaborates with cross-functional partners including Marketing, Digital, Operations, Technology, Finance, Risk, Compliance, and Distribution teams
- Builds strong working relationships to support successful delivery of product initiatives
- Provides subject matter expertise on product features, performance, and customer impacts
- Supports management of external partners and vendors, where applicable
Project & Initiative Delivery
- Leads or supports product development, enhancement, and optimization initiatives
- Coordinates activities across stakeholders to ensure timely and effective delivery of business outcomes
- Tracks initiative progress, dependencies, risks, and key decisions
- Supports change management, implementation, and post-launch monitoring activities
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in product management, product analytics, strategy, marketing, or financial services
- Post-secondary degree in Business, Commerce, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience interpreting data and translating insights into actionable recommendations
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of banking products and consumer banking industry trends is an asset
- Data-driven mindset with strong attention to detail
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives without direct authority

The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.
Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
