We are looking for a Product Owner (PO) for our Economic Crime Technology Programme. This is a critical role that will work within the Economic Crime CIO translating business strategy and demand into technical capability and requirements that will deliver our transformation aspirations and deliver brilliant outcomes for our customers and colleagues.
This role reports to the Lead Product Owner and is a key member of the Economic Crime Technology team helping to drive change and continually pushing for better. The PO is accountable for ensuring the ongoing alignment of the Platform outcomes to the Society Strategy and will be empowered to balance the roadmap of desired business outcomes with broader requirements from a Technology Strategy and IT run perspective, within the defined capacity/cost. They will support the strategic investment prioritisation process for the Economic Crime stream ensuring that initiatives in the backlog achieve business benefits aligned to the society strategy. The PO will also own and communicate the roadmap to key stakeholders ensuring a collaborative partnership approach to driving change.
The successful candidate will work within a team of Product Owners managing services across Fraud defences (e.g. Digital and Card fraud detection and prevention) and Financial Crime/Anti-Money Laundering controls (e.g. Customer Due Diligence and Screening).
The PO will be critical to the ongoing success of the Economic Crime Technology Programme ensuring that the roadmaps are delivered, and benefits realised.

What you’ll be doing
On a day-to-day basis, the successful candidate will work across the Society to identify, translate and support the delivery of critical customer outcomes, ensuring business priorities are aligned with strategic objectives. Working in partnership with technical delivery teams, they will define, shape and execute roadmaps, demonstrating a strong "Get It Done" mindset and a focus on delivering measurable value.
The role holder will be responsible for prioritising work within backlogs, assessing incoming demand and developing robust business cases to support value-driven decision making and prioritisation. They will continuously seek opportunities to improve ways of working, driving greater collaboration, efficiency and effectiveness across teams.
The role requires the ability to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the Society, translating strategic goals into tangible customer outcomes and technical deliverables.
The successful candidate will be comfortable operating in a complex environment, balancing competing priorities while ensuring alignment between business needs, customer expectations and delivery objectives. Strong communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills will be essential to drive engagement, secure buy-in and deliver successful outcomes across multiple areas of the organisation.
About you
You will have:
Ability to adapt thinking and make recommendations and decisions based on strong analytical skills and know how to shape strategy
Have strong influencing skills to develop future roadmaps based on feasibility and viability
Work in partnership with Delivery teams to manage team objectives and outcome related priorities
Ability to effectively communicate priorities across different business areas
An understanding of products, services, or technology relative to Economic Crime platforms
An understanding of society strategy and awareness of component parts to define objectives
