As a QA Engineer, you are responsible for helping engineering teams deliver high-quality software by combining hands-on testing, risk-based quality assurance, and test automation. A key part of the role is expanding and maintaining automated test coverage for business-critical functionality, embedding quality controls into delivery pipelines, and helping teams release software with confidence. You will also perform exploratory and targeted manual testing, assess risk, identify defects, and provide independent assessments of quality and risk where human investigation adds value.
You will become part of the Architecture & QA Team at SCOR Digital Solutions, collaborating closely with technical architects, software engineers, product managers, designers and an experienced QA Engineer. Together, you will help shape the future of quality engineering within an evolving software delivery environment that is increasingly enhanced through AI-assisted and agentic software engineering practices.
Key duties and responsibilities
Quality Assurance & Testing
- You validate new functionality, bug fixes, and enhancements delivered by engineering teams through structured manual testing and exploratory testing.
- You assess changes using risk-based testing principles, prioritizing testing effort on the areas with the highest business impact and likelihood of failure.
- You identify, document, reproduce, and track defects while collaborating closely with developers to ensure timely resolution.
- You verify fixes, confirm regression impact, and provide clear release sign-off recommendations.
- You evaluate both expected behaviour and edge cases to ensure software performs reliably in real-world scenarios.
Test Automation & Engineering
- You transform manual test scenarios into maintainable automated test suites that improve coverage and reduce repetitive manual effort.
- You contribute to the development and maintenance of automated testing frameworks and pipelines integrated into our software delivery process.
- You build and maintain automated end-to-end, integration, and regression tests using modern testing tools and engineering practices.
- You help improve testing scalability, reliability, and maintainability through continuous improvement of frameworks, tooling, and processes.
Collaboration & Quality Ownership
- You partner with developers to build a culture where quality is a shared responsibility rather than a final checkpoint.
- You contribute to discussions on requirements, acceptance criteria, solution design, and testability before development begins.
- You help engineering teams improve testing practices, quality awareness, and risk identification throughout the SDLC.
- You communicate quality risks, testing outcomes, and release readiness clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- You stay informed about modern quality engineering approaches, including AI-assisted and agentic testing techniques.
- You contribute ideas that help the organization keep pace with accelerating software delivery while maintaining high quality standards.
- You help identify opportunities for improved automation, metrics, reporting, and quality processes.
What Will Help You Succeed
- Experience performing structured software testing in Agile delivery environments.
- Experience designing and executing test cases, test scenarios, regression tests, and exploratory testing.
- Experience creating or maintaining automated tests using modern test automation frameworks.
- Experience with software development practices, source control, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software delivery workflows.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an eye for detail and edge cases.
- Ability to balance thoroughness with pragmatism through risk-based testing.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build productive relationships with developers and stakeholders.
