This role requires strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and collaboration with development, product, and QA teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver or Playwright.

  • Create and execute test cases for functional, regression, smoke, sanity, and end-to-end testing.

  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product owners to understand requirements and define test scenarios.

  • Build reusable test automation components using frameworks such as TestNG, JUnit, PyTest, Mocha, Jest, or similar.

  • Apply automation design patterns such as Page Object Model to improve script maintainability.

  • Perform defect identification, logging, tracking, and retesting using tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.

  • Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or equivalent tools.

  • Conduct API testing using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or similar platforms.

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.

  • Analyze test results, troubleshoot failures, and work with development teams to resolve issues.

Required Skills

  • 2–4 years of experience in software quality engineering, QA automation, or software testing.

  • Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver or Playwright for web application automation.

  • Good programming knowledge in at least one language such as Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python.

  • Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, defect life cycle, and Agile methodologies.

  • Experience in test case design, test execution, defect reporting, and test documentation.

  • Working knowledge of Git and CI/CD tools.

  • Basic understanding of API testing and REST services.

  • Ability to debug automation scripts and identify root causes of test failures.

  • Good communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber, SpecFlow, or Behave.

  • Exposure to cloud-based testing platforms such as BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, or LambdaTest.

  • Knowledge of performance testing tools such as JMeter or K6.

  • Basic understanding of database testing and SQL queries.

  • Experience with test management tools such as TestRail, Zephyr, or Azure Test Plans.

  • ISTQB Foundation certification or equivalent quality/testing certification is preferred.

Educational Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline. Equivalent practical experience in software testing and automation may also be considered.

Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in Selenium or Playwright automation.

  • Ability to write clean, reusable, and maintainable automation scripts.

  • Understanding of automation frameworks, test execution, and reporting.

  • Good debugging, analytical, and defect-triaging skills.

  • Ability to work in Agile teams and communicate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
