Quant Intern (Credit) - Philadelphia - December 2026new

ExodusPoint Capital (EC) · Hedge Fund / Prop Trading

ABOUT EXODUSPOINT

ExodusPoint Capital, founded in 2017 by Michael Gelband, began managing investor capital in 2018. The firm employs a global multi-strategy investment approach, seeking to deliver compelling asymmetric returns by combining complementary liquid strategies managed by experienced investment professionals within a robust risk framework. ExodusPoint brings together an accomplished team with hands-on experience running multi-manager businesses to create an institutional investment management firm.

The Role

ExodusPoint is looking for a Quantitative Intern to join a Corporate Credit investment team in Philadelphia.

You will work directly with the team’s traders, helping build the analytics and tools they use to monitor markets, identify opportunities and manage risk.

The team trades investment-grade Corporate Credit across new issues and secondary markets. The role will be particularly focused on the quantitative side of the investment process – working with market and trading data, developing analytics, automating existing processes and finding better ways to present information to the desk.

We don’t require previous Credit or finance experience. We are looking for someone who is highly analytical, comfortable coding and interested in applying those skills to a live trading environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Build dashboards and analytics for the trading team.
  • Analyse market, pricing and trading data.
  • Develop tools to identify relative-value opportunities and market dislocations.
  • Help improve intraday P&L, position and risk analytics.
  • Analyse liquidity and dealer activity across Corporate Credit markets.
  • Automate existing data and analytical processes.
  • Build and improve data pipelines used by the desk.
  • Backtest quantitative ideas and help assess whether they are useful in practice.
  • Work directly with traders to understand problems and build practical solutions.
  • Use tools such as Claude Code and Codex to improve the speed and efficiency of development.

The work will be driven by problems the team is dealing with day-to-day. We want someone who is comfortable taking an idea or loosely defined problem and figuring out how to solve it.

What We’re Looking For

  • Currently studying, or recently completed, a degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, Data Science or another quantitative field.
  • Strong coding skills, particularly Python.
  • Experience working with data and quantitative analysis.
  • A good understanding of statistics and probability.
  • Comfortable using modern coding and AI development tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Curious, self-motivated and comfortable working independently.
  • An interest in markets and trading.

A combination of Computer Science and Mathematics / Statistics would be particularly relevant, although we are open to candidates from a range of quantitative backgrounds.

Graduate-level study is helpful but not required.,You do not need to have worked in Credit or financial markets before.

We care more about whether you can code, work with data and think through quantitative problems. Previous experience or coursework in markets, quantitative finance, machine learning or trading is useful, but not essential.

The Team

You will sit directly with the investment team in Philadelphia and see how the tools you build are used in the trading process.

This is intended to be an in-person, full-time internship lasting approximately 3–4 months. Candidates do not need to currently live or study in Philadelphia, but should be able to work from the Philadelphia office during the internship.

There may be scope for a longer-term opportunity depending on performance and the needs of the team.
