We are looking for an experienced and commercially astute professional to proactively originate, structure and deliver Real Estate Finance (REF) solutions for complex, core and franchise-building real estate clients. The successful candidate will work closely with Client Coverage, the Regional Head and Sub-Segment Leads to drive lending opportunities, provide end-to-end transaction oversight and execution leadership, and coach and coordinate stakeholders to ensure an exceptional client experience. This role requires a strong focus on revenue growth, market share expansion and maintaining the CIB brand as the preferred lending partner, while consistently delivering on the origination promise and contributing meaningfully to lending performance objectives.
Key responsibilities
- Drive Regional Real Estate Finance growth by defining and monitoring data requirements, analysing market and client trends, and identifying strategic opportunities to grow the lending pipeline, increase revenue, expand market share and strengthen CIB's position as the Go-To Lending Bank.
- Own and deliver Regional portfolio performance by setting, managing and driving profit, revenue, asset growth and portfolio objectives, leveraging data-driven insights to monitor performance, track progress against targets and optimise client and shareholder returns.
- Lead origination strategy and deal selection by identifying, evaluating and securing franchise-enhancing opportunities, balancing mandate viability, deal feasibility and probability of closure, while ensuring solutions align to client needs, risk appetite and business strategy.
- Act as a trusted lending advisor by providing expert insights, thought leadership and innovative debt solutions, leading complex client engagements, refining solution proposals and driving post-pitch activities to successfully close transactions.
- Provide strategic oversight of deal execution by overseeing transaction delivery across the Region, reviewing and approving financial models, deal structures, term sheets and lending solutions, and ensuring compliance, quality, completeness and commercial viability throughout the deal lifecycle.
- Manage portfolio risk and balance sheet optimisation by monitoring pipeline performance, exposure and risk metrics, leading watchlist and non-performing loan interventions, and partnering with Coverage, Risk and Distribution teams to efficiently manage capital allocation and balance sheet capacity.
- Ensure robust governance and regulatory compliance by overseeing due diligence, approval processes, policy implementation, integrity assessments and adherence to all CIB risk, regulatory and business control requirements.
- Build and leverage strategic stakeholder relationships by collaborating with Client Coverage, REF Specialists, Transaction Management, Risk and other internal partners, while developing external networks that enhance market access, strengthen the franchise and create cross-sell opportunities.
- Provide strategic leadership and capability development by leading high-performing teams, allocating portfolios, setting performance expectations, coaching and developing talent, and fostering a culture aligned to leadership, diversity, inclusion and business performance priorities.
