Job Description

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

  • Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
  • Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
  • Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

To be successful as a “Salesforce Engineer ", you should have experience with:

Basic/ Essential Qualifications:

  • Proven experience working in large-scale, enterprise environments with globally distributed teams.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and SOQL.
  • Deep understanding of Salesforce architecture, data model, governor limits, and security model.
  • Experience building and maintaining Salesforce integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, Platform Events, and asynchronous patterns.
  • Experience with OmniStudio (FlexCards, OmniScripts, DataRaptors, Integration Procedures) is a strong plus.
  • Salesforce Platform Developer II certification (preferred).
  • Experience with Salesforce CI/CD and DevOps practices (Git, automated deployments, release management).
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end system integration, including Salesforce ↔ Java systems.
  • Ability to design solutions that span Salesforce, Java services, and downstream systems.
  • Experience working with databases (SQL-based) and understanding of data synchronization patterns.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Desirable skillsets/ good to have:

  • Hands-on experience in Java (8 or above) with solid fundamentals in OOP, collections, exception handling, and JVM concepts.
  • Experience building enterprise Java applications, preferably using Spring / Spring Boot.
  • Good understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful service design, and integration patterns.
  • Experience with multithreading, concurrency, and performance optimization in Java applications.
  • Familiarity with batch processing, scheduled jobs, and backend data processing.
  • Ability to contribute to or lead future Java-based development initiatives alongside Salesforce work.
  • Architecture & Integration
  • Master’s degree in a technical field (Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work across multiple business and IT environments globally.
  • Prior experience working in investment banking or financial services (nice to have).
  • Proactive team player with well-developed interpersonal and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and adapt to changing demands.
  • Proven ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations.
