The SCOR Business Solutions (SBS) Operations team operates within SCOR as part of its specialty insurance and reinsurance activities and supports both SBS and Cedant Facultative underwriting operations. The team provides support for day-to-day operational tasks, internal and external reporting, process improvement, controls and system enhancements across both business areas.

 

  • The SBS & Cedant Fac Operations Analyst will support the SBS Operations team with the following:

    • Review, update and create process documentation.

    • Support the centralisation of business-as-usual (BAU) reporting activities to SCOR Bucharest, including the creation and maintenance of supporting documentation.

    • Support the delivery of Syndicate timetable activities  including Month Close, Regulatory Returns, Analytical Segmentation or Operational Management Reporting. 

    • Assist with identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

    • Support with the development, definition and monitoring of KPIs and proactively highlighting risks or service gaps. 

    • Analyse operational data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities

    • Contribute recommendations to improve accuracy, reduce costs, and increase operational efficiency 

    • Ensure operational practices comply with regulatory standards, company policies, data protection, and audit requirements.

    • Support the onboarding of new lines of business by assisting with process documentation, operational readiness and stakeholder coordination.

    • Support Operational Resilience activities, including maintaining documentation, coordinating testing activities and tracking remediation actions.

Contribute a business and operational insight to technology and data initiatives, helping identifying opportunities that  could advance the SCOR’s analytical advantage which include but is not limited to Palantir, Azure DataBricks, Spark, Use/Integration/Build of AI Models.  

Key duties and responsibilities

 

Operational Analysis & Process Improvement

  • Analyse end-to-end SBS and Cedant Facultative operations across underwriting, policy administration, claims, renewals and endorsements.
  • Identify process gaps, bottlenecks, and opportunities for automation or optimisation.

  • Support the design and implementation of new workflows, standard operating procedures, and best‑practice operational standards.

  • Develop and track KPIs, dashboards, and operational reports for leadership teams.

  • Support the integration of Cedant Facultative activity into established SBS operating processes, including workflow documentation, service monitoring and operational issue resolution.

Data & Reporting

  • Collect, validate, and interpret operational and insurance-related data (e.g., loss ratios, turnaround times, performance metrics).

  • Produce regular and ad-hoc reports for leadership, highlighting trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.

  • Work with data, finance, and actuarial teams to ensure accurate data flows and reporting integrity.

  • Collaborate with external stakeholders and manage external resources to meet regulatory reporting requirements, ensuring deadlines set by regulatory bodies are consistently achieved.

  • Provide ongoing support for existing reporting processes, ensuring reliability, accuracy, and timely delivery to meet business needs

  • Produce and maintain Cedant Facultative operational reporting, including pipeline, booking, portfolio-transfer and performance monitoring, and investigate data-quality or process exceptions.
  • Provide Operational Resilience support to ensure all artifacts are kept up to date. 

 

Risk, Compliance & Quality Control

  • Ensure operational processes comply with regulatory standards and company policies.

  • Identify emerging risks and propose mitigation strategies.

  • Support the monitoring and maintenance of SBS and Cedant Facultative operational controls, escalating exceptions and assisting with remediation and audit evidence.
  • Help prepare documentation for regulatory reviews, audits, and internal governance activities.

Governance & Operational Resilience

  • Support the operation of Operational Resilience governance forums by coordinating inputs, maintaining clear records of decisions and actions, and monitoring agreed follow-up activities.

  • Maintain governance documentation, controls, policies and operational resilience artefacts, ensuring they remain current, accurate and aligned with business and regulatory requirements.

  • Support timely reporting and escalation of operational risks, control issues, service vulnerabilities and remediation actions to appropriate stakeholders.

  • Help embed operational resilience into day-to-day operations by integrating resilience considerations into processes, change activity, controls, reporting, training and business decision-making.

  • Support business impact analysis, dependency mapping, scenario testing and lessons-learned activities, tracking improvement actions through to completion.

  • Coordinate scenario testing of Important Business Services (IBS) and relevant third-party dependencies, working with business owners, technology, risk and service providers to plan and facilitate exercises, evidence performance against impact tolerances, capture lessons learned and track remediation actions through to completion.

  • Support the preparation and submission of SCOR’s annual operational resilience self-assessments to the PRA and Lloyd’s.

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with SBS and Cedant Facultative underwriting, technical accounting and administration, claims, product, finance, risk, compliance and technology teams to streamline processes and support business objectives.

  • Support the delivery of operational initiatives and organisational change programmes through analysis, coordination and stakeholder management in coordination with  project managers,

  • Support onboarding and training sessions for new hires or new operational processes.

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with SCOR stakeholders, understanding their expectations and requirements and supporting the execution of operational solutions. 

 

Technology Support

  • Support the implementation, maintenance and optimisation of core systems (e.g. Xuber, Open Box+, UP, Omega) platforms.

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders  to resolve system issues, enhance processes and technology, and support upgrades as required

  • Support Cedant Facultative system and workflow enhancements, including requirements definition, user acceptance testing, implementation, training and post-deployment monitoring.
  • Provide user support, testing, and training for new process or system changes.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word. 
  • Knowledge of the Lloyd's and London Market insurance environment, insurance operations, or reinsurance would be advantageous.

     

    Required Education 

     

  • Degree or higher education diploma (Bachelor or higher) in Business Management, Economics, Engineering or related degree
